1. Happy Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami. It is the tenth day of the Navratri festival. It calls an end to the festival and is often considered symbolic of victory of the good over evil. It is also evident of a new beginning.

Navratri 2025 started on September 22, Monday. Dussehra is celebrated on the tenth day or dashami tithi of the shukla paksha of Ashwin month on Hindu calendar.

2. Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated every year on 2nd October to honor the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. His life and teachings of truth, non-violence, and simplicity continue to inspire millions around the world.

3. Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti 2025 observed on 2nd October, the 121st birth anniversary of India’s second Prime Minister. Shastri was admired for his simplicity, honesty, and love for the country. He is best remembered for his inspiring slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.”

4. The Union Cabinet approved a 3% DA hike for Central Govt employees and pensioners effective 1 Oct 2025, benefiting over 1.18 crore people.

5. The Government approves Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses worth 11 thousand 440 crore rupees from 2025-31.

6. A High-Level Committee, under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah has approved a number of mitigation, recovery and reconstruction projects having total outlay of over four thousand 645 crore rupees. It will benefit nine States of Assam, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.

7. PM Modi released special coin & stamp to celebrate 100 years of RSS (1925–2025).
Founded in 1925 by K.B. Hedgewar, RSS has grown into India’s largest voluntary organisation.

8. Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department bagged the Global Tourism Award 2025 in New Delhi for innovation in sustainable tourism. Recognised for eco-friendly projects, cultural festivals, and digital promotion campaigns.

9. India is accelerating its lunar exploration program with a focused roadmap that includes missions Chandrayaan-6, 7, and 8, following the upcoming Chandrayaan-4 and Chandrayaan-5 missions. This sequence of missions is part of a long-term strategic plan unveiled during the National Space Day meet, aimed at landing an astronaut on the Moon by 2040.

10. The Government of India has launched operational guidelines for installing over 72,300 public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the country. This initiative under the PM E-DRIVE scheme aims to accelerate EV adoption by expanding accessible charging infrastructure.

11. Madhya Pradesh has launched Gaj Rakshak App to track elephants and reduce human-elephant conflicts.

12. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated a special Khadi exhibition at INA Delhi Haat as part of the Khadi Mahotsav. The exhibition aims to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vocal for Local and Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Ghar Swadeshi campaigns and increase the income of Khadi artisans.

13. The Maharashtra Police has placed an order for 15 American-origin Barrett Multi-Role Adaptive Design (MRAD) sniper rifles worth approximately ₹5 crore. These advanced sniper systems will equip the elite Force One commando unit, which was established after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks to respond to terrorism-related security threats.

1. In Telangana, Private professional colleges have called for strike from October 13, expressing displeasure over the state government’s failure to release Rs 200 crore out of an arrears of Rs 600 crore that were supposed to be cleared before Dasara.

2. The Ladakh administration on Tuesday (September 30, 2025) accused climate activist Sonam Wangchuk of suggesting “self-immolation” to the people of Ladakh on “multiple occasions” on “lines of protests in Tibet.”

3. Singer, Zubeen Garg’s manager Siddhartha Sharma and festival chief organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta were arrested from Delhi on Wednesday in connection with the singer’s death in Singapore last month.

The duo has been booked under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, criminal conspiracy and causing death by negligence.

4. Fresh revelations have surfaced in the case of self-styled godman Chaitanyanand Saraswati, accused of sexual exploitation. During a police search of his institute in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj, investigators recovered a sex toy, five CDs with pornographic content, and doctored photographs showing him alongside global leaders such as Barack Obama and David Cameron.

5. Manipur recorded 14,427 violent crimes in 2023, a 20x jump from 631 in 2022. Highest in NE for riots (5,421), arson (6,203), and crimes against STs (3,339).

1. In Uttar Pradesh, at least 11 people lost their lives while several others were injured in lightning strike incidents across the state over the past 24 hours.

2. Rajasthan govt bans cough syrup after children’s deaths: A generic cough syrup supplied to the Rajasthan government has been linked to the deaths of two children and others falling sick in the state over the last two weeks, prompting authorities to ban 22 batches of the drug and order an inquiry.

1. The Union Cabinet on Wednesday announced a 6.59 per cent increase in the minimum support price (MSP) for wheat to Rs 2,585 per quintal for the 2026-27 marketing year, up Rs 160 per quintal from Rs 2,425 per quintal last year.

2. In order to promote the settlement of cross border transactions in Indian Rupees and local currencies, the Reserve Bank has announced a few additional measures. 1. India’s first helicopter Final Assembly Line from the private sector, to be established by TATA Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) to build the Airbus H125 helicopters, will be located in Vemagal in Karnataka.

2. DRDO is set to test a new class of hypersonic missile, specifically a Hypersonic Glide Vehicle (HGV), by the end of 2025. This missile, named “Dhvani,” represents a critical advancement in India’s hypersonic weapons program, aiming to strengthen the country’s strategic deterrence capabilities.

3. Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to begin receiving the TEJAS MK-1A Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) imminently, with the first two aircraft deliveries expected as early as October 2025.This milestone marks a significant capability boost for the IAF, with indigenous fighter jets ready to replace the iconic but ageing MiG-21.

4. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) of India is seeking an Indian industry partner for the design, development, and realisation of a panel-based X band Active Antenna Array Unit (AAAU).This initiative aims to advance indigenous capabilities in electronic warfare, radar, and communication systems with a focus on modern, lightweight, high-performance antenna technologies.

5. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu Presents Special Honour to President’s Bodyguard on 75 Years of Service

President Droupadi Murmu presented Diamond Jubilee Silver Trumpet & Banner to PBG. PBG is the oldest regiment (1773), renamed in 1950 after independence.

Seven of India’s biggest defence manufacturers have formally submitted bids to take part in the country’s most ambitious aerospace program — the Advanced Multi-Role Combat Aircraft (AMCA), a fifth-generation stealth fighter jet project slated to become the backbone of the Indian Air Force (IAF) by the mid-2030s.

7. The Indian Army will host the United Nations Troop Contributing Countries’ (UNTCC) Chiefs Conclave in New Delhi from 14 to 16 of this month. Senior military leadership from over 30 nations will participate in the conclave. These countries are key contributors to United Nations peacekeeping operations.
