India celebrates the 58th BSF Raising Day

1. Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare has launched a nationwide campaign for promotion of Digital Life Certificate for Central Government pensioners. The objective of this nationwide campaign is to promote the use of Face Authentication technology and Digital Life Certificate.

2. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy chaired a review meeting ahead of G-20 meetings with Senior Officers from DoNER, Tourism, Culture and Chief Secretaries and Senior officers from all 8 North Eastern States.

3. National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) has revealed that the country’s annual rate of HIV infection has declined by 46 per cent between 2010 and 2021 against global average of 32 per cent.

4. Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog has announced the launch of applications for Community Innovator Fellowship (CIF).

5. Union Minister R.K Singh inaugurated ‘Doctor Apke Dwar’ Mobile Health Clinics at Sadar Hospital, Aarah, Bhojpur District Bihar.

6. Jharkhand High Court said, Muslim girls aged 15 or above have liberty to marry the person of their choice without interference of their guardians.

8. Assam government will soon introduce a scheme under which all female students pursuing post-graduate courses in the state will be provided a yearly stipend of Rs 10,000 each in 10 monthly instalments, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

9. Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has directed the state governments of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan to phase out diesel autos in graded manner by the end of 2026.

10. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has inaugurated an industrial park at Eraiyur in Tamil Nadu’s Perambalur district.

11. Calcutta High Court allowed the TMC to hold a rally near the residence of BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari in West Bengal on December 3. Adhikari moved the High Court challenging the permission granted for the rally, nearly 100 metres from his residence.

12. Supreme Court asked the Tamil Nadu government how Jallikattu was necessary for preserving the native breed of bulls while hearing a plea challenging the law allowing the bull-taming sport. The sport is played as part of the Pongal harvest festival.

13. IAS officer Sanjay Kumar took charge as Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, in Shastri Bhawan in Delhi.

CRIME REPORT

1. Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached immovable properties worth over 82 Crore rupees belonging to an IAS Pooja Singhal in Ranchi, Jharkhand.

2. Twitter handle of the Ministry of Jal Shakti was briefly hacked on early Thursday and reportedly 80 tweets were made. A tweet promoting crypto wallet Sui Wallet was first posted by the ministry’s account at 5:38 am. The account’s profile picture was also changed from the Indian flag to Sui’s logo. A probe has been initiated by government officials.

3. A 30.83-acre piece of land belonging to Andhra Pradesh Labour Minister Gummanur Jayaram in Kurnool district has been attached by the Income Tax Department after it was alleged to be a ‘benami’ property.

4. BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur has withdrawn her discharge plea pending before Bombay HC in the 2008 Malegaon blast case.

1. India’s GDP grows 6.3% in second quarter of 2022-23.

2. The government on Thursday reiterated that it is committed to provide comprehensive insurance coverage against crop loss on account of non-preventable natural risks under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).

3. Reserve Bank of India on Thursday announced a four-tiered regulatory framework for categorisation of Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs). UCBs having deposits up to ₹100 crore were categorised into Tier 1, while Tier 2 comprises UCBs with deposits over ₹100 crore and up to ₹1,000 crore. Tier 3 will cover banks with deposits over ₹1,000 crore and up to ₹10,000 crore.

4. HSBC is cutting at least 200 senior operations managers worldwide as it attempts to streamline its management ranks and reduce costs.

5. TurtleFin, India’s leading insurtech platform, has partnered with YES BANK, one of the leading private sector banks in India, to create a comprehensive technology platform EasyNsure.

1. External Affairs Ministry has pointed out that India is independent to conduct military exercise with any country.

2. External Affairs Ministry has said that India will assume the chairmanship of the Wassenaar arrangement on the 1st of next month. Wassenaar arrangement is a multilateral export control regime wherein member states exchange information on various issues like transfer of conventional arms.

3. India celebrates the 58th BSF Raising Day (1st December) in 2022. This is for the first time that the Raising Day Parade of India’s first line of defense is being held in Punjab and the second time outside the national capital. The 58th Raising Day Parade of the Border Security Force (BSF) will be held on December 4 on Guru Nanak Dev University campus.

4. Four US Army officers part of the 11th Airborne Division were promoted high up on Nanda Devi, India’s second-highest Himalayan peak, during the 18th edition of India-US joint military exercise ‘Yudh Abhyas’ in Uttarakhand. Capt. Cerruti, Lt. Russell, Lt. Brown and Lt. Hack became the first four USArmy Officers to be promoted in the Himalayas during Yudh Abhyas Exercise.
