1. India administers over 124 crore 86 lakh COVID vaccination

2. The Lok Sabha passed the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation Bill), 2020,* after a detailed discussion. It was moved by Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya in the post-lunch session. The minister said the bill is for the regulation and supervision of assisted reproductive technology (ART) clinics and ART banks. He said the bill would help prevent misuse of the technology and ensure safe and ethical ART practices.

3. President Ram Nath Kovind signed off on Farm Laws Repeal Bill on 01 Dec. The Farm Laws Repeal Bill, 2021, was passed in Rajya Sabha on Monday, November 29. Earlier in the day, it was cleared in Lok Sabha through a voice vote.

4. Indian Railways to install solar energy projects on unused vacant Railway land: Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said.

10. J&K: Over 10 houses gutted as massive fire breaks out near LoC in Gurez. Fire broke out at a village near the Line of Control in Gurez at 2:30 am on November 30. The Army team, being the first responders to the situation, evacuated the villagers from their houses, while simultaneously doused the fire.

11. MAHARASHTRA : Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written a letter to the Maharashtra Govt regarding the divergence in COVID protocol to be followed for air travellers.

12. Maharashtra had recently issued a notification saying that RT-PCR testing will be mandatory for all international travellers irrespective of the country of origin and also for those planning to undertake connecting flights. This is in deviance with the Centre’s SOPs which state that only those passengers, arriving from ‘at risk’ countries will be tested.

13. The Caste Certificate Verification Committee of Mumbai city has summoned controversial Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede to be present on December 14 to join the ongoing inquiry into his caste certificate. Earlier NCP leader and Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik has also alleged that Sameer Wankhede, a Muslim, used a fake caste certificate to secure a government job.

14. MEGHALAYA Congress’ working chief James S Lyngdoh resigned from the primary membership of the party on Wednesday, days after 12 of its 17 MLAs, including former state CM Mukul Sangma, joined the TMC.

15. PUNJAB : Shiromani Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Wednesday joined BJP in presence of Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda ahead of Punjab Assembly polls. He also resigned as President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.

16. To woo the business community, the Punjab Cabinet on Wednesday decided to exempt about 1.50 lakh cases from tax assessment for 2014-15 till 2017-18, a move that will cost the state exchequer Rs 200 crore.

17. TELANGANA : With a view to mobilizing Rs 7,000 crore for the Rythu Bandhu scheme for the rabi season, release of funds for all other welfare schemes in Telangana, as also clearance of pending bills, has been stopped for the next two weeks.

18. The TRS members on Wednesday disrupted Parliament proceedings for the third day in a row, trooping into the podium in the Lok Sabha as also the Rajya Sabha demanding paddy procurement from Telangana in rabi season and legislation on MSP (minimum support price) for all agriculture crops.

19. GST revenues for November this year have been the second highest ever since introduction of GST. The gross GST revenue collected in November this year is 1 lakh 31 thousand 526 crore rupees.

Tata Power bags India’s largest solar and battery project worth ₹945 crore : Tata Power announced it has been awarded a project by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to build a 100 MW EPC solar project, along with 120 MWh utility scale Battery Energy Storage System. The total contract value of the project is approximately ₹945 crore, and it will be completed within 18 months.

21. Telugu actors Jr NTR, Chiranjeevi and Mahesh Babu on Wednesday announced that they have made donations of ₹25 lakh each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund amid heavy floods in Andhra Pradesh. As per reports, 44 people have died while 16 are still missing in the state. IMD has issued alert for Cyclone Jawad saying it may hit Andhra Pradesh.

22. Actress Richa Chadha on Wednesday told West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, “I think we are ready for a female Prime Minister, ma’am. The time is right for some goddess energy.” Mamata is on a three-day visit to Mumbai.

23. India’s Defense Ministry has given final approval to a joint venture for the licensed production of over 600,000 Russian Kalashnikov AK-203 assault rifles. The deal is now valued at around $590 million, almost $100 million less than the $688 price tag previously reported.

24. The first Batch 2 KSS-III submarine for the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) will feature the Pegaso electronic defence system from Indra Sistemas, after the Spanish company obtained a contract from South Korean shipyard Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME).

25. The Army has decided to introduce a new digital pattern combat uniform for officers and men from next year. The Army is also working on a new regular uniform, which will be vastly different from the olives in use now. ThePrint that the new combat uniform, which will be a mix of colours including olive and earthen, has been finalised by the Army headquarters and will be showcased at the Army Day Parade on 15 January, 2022 in the national capital.

26. NOTIFICATION:

(a) Indian Air Force will begin the registration process for IAF AFCAT 2021 on December 1, 2021 onwards. Candidates who want to apply for the Air Force Common Admission Test, AFCAT can apply online through the official site of IAF AFCAT on afcat.cdac.in. The last date to apply online is till December 30, 2021.

(b) Ministry of Defence (Navy) is hiring professionals for several Apprentice posts including Electronics Mechanic, Painter, Carpenter among others. Interested candidates can apply through the official Apprenticeship India website on apprenticeshipindia.org on or before December 5, 2021.
