5. The Press and Registration of Periodicals Bill, 2023 was introduced in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday amid din.
6. Lok Sabha passed the Offshore Areas Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill on Tuesday.
7. Lok Sabha passed the Constitution (Scheduled castes) Order Amendment Bill 2023 on Tuesday.
8. The Lok Sabha passed the Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, 2023 on Tuesday.
9. The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill 2023 has been introduced in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday amid din.
10. The government has clarified that it is not going to review the existing New Pension Scheme as of now.
11. Centre has brought the IIM (Amendment) Bill, 2023, which proposes to make the President Visitor to all the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). The Bill seeks to give powers to the President to audit IIMs’ functions and appoint and remove Directors. If passed, the Bill will also give the President powers to appoint Chairpersons of IIMs’ Board of Governors.
12. Government has said that nearly 2.46 lakh farmers have been benefitted from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan, PM-KUSUM Scheme.
13. India Post will sell National Flag through its 1.60 lakh post offices to celebrate Har Ghar Tiranga.
14. The National Mission of Clean Ganga, NMCG has approved seven projects worth around 692 crore rupees.
15. PM Modi inaugurates several developmental projects in Pune; Lays foundation of over 7,000 houses for poor.
16. PM Modi flagged off Metro trains marking inauguration of services on completed sections of the two corridors of Pune Metro Phase I. Prime Minister also inaugurated the Waste to Energy Plant under Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). Developed at a cost of about 300 crore rupees, it will use up about 2.5 lakh MT of waste annually to produce electricity.
17. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred the Lokmanya Tilak National Award for his outstanding contributions towards the progress of the country.Prime Minister began his Pune visit by performing Darshan and Pooja at Dagdusheth Mandir.

20. Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah on Monday said the 10-day Dasara festival, which is celebrated as “naada habba” or state festival, will be organised in a grand way in Mysuru this year. Siddaramaiah said the festivities will include an air show, an exhibition and cultural programmes.

1. The Income Tax Department on Tuesday said that more than 6.77 crore ITRs for AY 2023-24 were filed till July 31, 2023, 16.1% more than the ITRs filed in the corresponding period last year.
2. Promoter and Chairman Emeritus Kushal Pal Singh has offloaded his entire shareholding of 1.45 crore shares worth ₹731 crore in DLF via open market transactions on Tuesday. The total promoter and promoter group’s shareholding in the real estate company was 74.95% as of June 2023. Singh’s shareholding was equivalent to 0.59% of paid-up equity.
3. Karnataka and US-based International Battery Company (IBC) on Tuesday signed an MoU to establish a recyclable lithium-ion battery manufacturing unit with an investment of ₹8,000 crore. IBC Founder and CEO Priyadarshi Panda said.
4. Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) hiked prices of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) by 8.5%—for the second month in a row. ATF prices in Delhi were increased by ₹7,728/kilo-litre to ₹98,508.26/kilo-litre and to ₹92,124.13/kilo-litre in Mumbai.
5. Union Ministry of Rural Development informed Parliament on Tuesday that it owes ₹6,366 crore under the wage component of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) to States.
There are a total of 14.42 crore active MGNREGS workers, most of whom are women.
