1. The Indian Meteorological Department IMD has issued a warning for heavy rainfall and squally weather over Saurashtra and Kachchh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka coasts.

2. Heavy rains are lashing Andhra Pradesh due to a low-pressure system that has formed over the Bay of Bengal. In Gujarat, the flood situation has been normalised after the significant decrease in the rainfall in the last 24 hours

3. The Election Commission reschedules voting day for Haryana Assembly elections to 5th October; Counting of votes for both Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections to take place on 8th October.

4. Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar has emphasized the need for collective efforts to address the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and depletion of natural resources. The Vice President was addressing scientists, faculty members, and students of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

7. Jharkhand BJP Assembly Election-in-charge and Union Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said the BJP will give important responsibility to Champai Soren. Talking to reporters in Ranchi he said Mr Soren will also be included in the core committee of the Party. After Champai Soren, another founder leader of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Lobin Hembrom joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Mr Hembrom is a former JMM MLA from Borio assembly constituency

1. Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi has again called on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to expedite the setting up and operationalization of Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs) dedicated to handling cases of rape and POCSO. In a letter, the Union Minister expressed concern over pending cases in the state’s existing Fast Track Courts (FTCs).

7. A man in Bihar’s Begusarai tried to attack Union Minister Giriraj Singh at a ‘Janta Darbar’ programme in the BJP leader’s Lok Sabha constituency. The man was beaten up by Singh’s supporters and handed over to the police.

1. The Centre has cut windfall tax on domestically produced crude oil to one thousand 850 rupees per tonne from two thousand 100 rupees per tonne.

2. The Reserve Bank of India has levied penalties on two banks: Rs 2.68 crore on UCO Bank for violating rules on current accounts, interest on deposits, and fraud classification, and Rs 2.1 lakh on Cent Bank Home Finance Ltd for not complying with KYC regulations. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has assured Sikh community leaders that the state government would consider banning the release of Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film “Emergency” pending legal consultation, government adviser Mohammad Ali Shabbir said. A delegation from the Telangana Sikh Society, led by former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Tejdeep Kaur Menon, met Shabbir at the Secretariat here and requested for a ban on the screening of “Emergency”

2. Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu praised the Committee report, which has led to several Kerala actors speaking out about the abuse they faced in the industry. The actor also urged the Telangana government to publish a similar report on sexual harassment in Telugu film industry, which she said would help frame policies and also ensure a safe working environment for women.
