1. Nation observes World Sanskrit Day on 31 August. The Day, also known as Vishva-Samskrita-Dinam, is an annual event focused around the ancient Indian language Sanskrit that incorporates lectures about the language and is aimed to promote its revival and maintenance.
2. A special Session of Parliament has been convened from the 18th to 22nd September. The session will have five sittings. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said.

14. Delhi registers best-ever average air quality during the last eight years, from 2016 to 2023. the daily average Air Quality Index for Delhi has been recorded as 174. An overall daily average AQI level of below 200 for the period from January to August has been observed only during 2021 onwards, with the lowest being 174 this year.
15. Lok Sabha secretariat has revoked the suspension of Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. He was suspended from Lok Sabha over deliberate and repeated misconduct.
In a statement, Lok Sabha secretariat said, the suspension of Mr Chowdhury, which was effected on 10th of August till the submission of the Report by the Committee of Privileges, has been revoked.
16. The Opposition bloc INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) is holding a two-day meeting in Mumbai to discuss its plans for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
17. The Union government on Thursday informed the Supreme Court that it is ready for elections at any time in Jammu and Kashmir. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the government, said that the process of updating the voter list is substantially over.
18. BJP is set to celebrate the Telangana Liberation Day for the second time in a row in the state on September 17 with plans to hold the event in Warangal. Union home minister Amit Shah will be the chief guest at the celebrations.

1. Delhi Police has arrested a 30-year-old man and detained one more in connection with writing pro-Khalistan messages on the walls of four Delhi Metro stations ahead of the G20 Summit. Police said the accused carried out the act on the directions of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the chief of the banned United States-based Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) outfit.
2. At least eight persons have been killed and 18 injured, including two security personnel, in Manipur’s Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts following continuous gunbattle between Kukis and Meiteis over the last 72 hours, officials said on Thursday.
