1. The Supreme Court refused to interfere with the Madras High Court order, which quashed the show cause notice issued to Sadhguru’s Isha Foundation for carrying out construction work at Velliangiri hills, Coimbatore between 2006 and 2014 without obtaining environmental clearance.
The bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice NK Singh approved the High Court’s view and dismissed the TNPCB’s challenge.
2. The Centre government on Friday, February 28, approved the development and operationalisation of Warangal Airport, waiving the exclusivity clause that restricted new airport developments within 150 km of Hyderabad International Airport.
According to an official order, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) had sought approval for the revival of Warangal’s Mamnoor Airport, referring to letters from the Telangana government confirming Hyderabad International Airport Limited (HIAL) had issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the project.
3. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is facing allegations of frivolous spending after the state Public Works Department estimated Rs 2.6 crore for renovations at his official residence, Cauvery.
Reportedly, Rs 1.7 crore was allocated for construction of the helper’s room and kitchen items, while Rs 89 lakh will be used for electrical upgrade and air conditioning.

1. Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh released the first edition of Ministry of Defence’s bi-annual Hindi magazine ‘Sashakt Bharat’ at South Block, New Delhi.
The magazine comprises poems on the valour, patriotism and sacrifices of the Armed Forces personnel as well as articles on the policies of the Government written by the personnel of the Ministry, irrespective of their ranks, showcasing inclusivity and unity in diversity.
2. India is currently in negotiations to purchase an additional 10 Airbus C-295 military transport aircraft, expanding its original order of 71. This move is part of a broader effort to revamp the country’s ageing fleet, particularly the legacy Avro HS-748 aircraft that have been in service since 1961.
