isro successfully conducts flight acceptance hot test of ce 20 cryogenic engine

3. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully conducted the flight acceptance hot test of the CE-20 cryogenic engine. The Engine will power the Cryogenic Upper Stage of the LVM3 launch vehicle for the Chandrayaan-3 mission. The space agency said the test was successfully conducted on February 24, at the ISRO Propulsion Complex, Mahendragiri in Tamil Nadu. ISRO said.

4. PM Modi will inaugurate the 10-lane Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway on March 11 in Mandya district. The 143-km journey from Bengaluru to Mysuru will be possible in just one-and-half hours or less than that depending on the speed of the vehicle.

5. National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) fixed retail prices of 74 medicines including diabetes.

6. BJP will launch its ‘Vijaya Sankalpa Yatra’ across poll-bound Karnataka on March 1. BJP chief JP Nadda will kick-start the yatra from Chamarajanagar district on Wednesday, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will flag off another yatra on Thursday from Belagavi district. BJP will cover 8,000 km as part of the yatra, in which over 50 BJP leaders will participate.

10. Rajasthan will set up the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for IT Development and e-Governance to tackle cyber crime, for which CM Ashok Gehlot approved ₹147.55 crore.

12. 252 Zilla Parishad schools will be developed in Maharashtra’s Latur under the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM-SHRI) scheme to provide high quality education.

13. Congress National president Mallikarjun Kharge to participate in 70th birthday celebrations of DMK president & Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin, at YMCA grounds in Nandanam, Chennai.

14. Election Commission of India (ECI) said re-polling will be conducted in four polling stations of four districts of Zunheboto, Wokha, Mon and Noklak in Nagaland, on the basis of reports submitted by the General Observer. The re-poll will be held from 7 am to 4 pm on March 1. Nagaland elections recorded a provisional voting turnout of 84.69%.

CRIME REPORT

1. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Minister of AAP government Satyendar Jain have resigned from the Delhi Cabinet. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has accepted their resignations. Manish Sisodia had been arrested by the CBI for alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now scrapped Delhi Excise policy for 2021-22 in the national capital.

2. One person died and several others, including three children, were injured in a massive explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Kerala’s Ernakulam district on Tuesday.

3. Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan has written to authorities of Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal to conduct a thorough inquiry into the suicide of medical student Dr D Preethi. The first-year postgraduate student attempted suicide on February 22 due to alleged harassment by her senior. She died at Hyderabad’s Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences on February 26.

DEFENCE

1. The Indian Army has started testing Jet Pack suits made by a British company Gravity Industries. Army is currently engaged in the evaluation of these suits in Agra, in collaboration with Richard Browning, the test pilot of the suit and the founder of Gravity Industries, which designs these suits.

2. India recently dispatched Mirage-2000 fighters and other aircraft to participate in the ‘Cobra Warrior’ exercise in the United Kingdom. It is a multilateral exercise in which Air Forces from Finland, Sweden, South Africa, USA, and Singapore would also participate alongside UK’s Royal Air Force and Indian Air Force.

3. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) recently approved a new variant of the Hindustan 228-201 LW aircraft developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). It has a maximum take-off weight of 5695kgs with 19 passenger seating capacity. The aircraft would fall in the Sub-5700 kg aircraft category.

4. General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Command Lt Gen Yogendra Dimri led the Shatrujeet paratroopers in a command jump organized at Agra a day before his retirement from service. A total of 70 personnel including Lt Gen Dimri took part in the para jump living by the motto ‘Men Apart, Every Man an Emperor’.

Lt Gen Y Dimri superannuates on February 28, 2023 after an illustrious career spanning nearly 40 years in the Indian Army. This is the first time that an Army Commander has carried out a parachute jump on the penultimate day of his service.
