1. The central govt said that, it has released the entire amount of GST compensation payable to states up to May 31, 2022 by releasing an amount of Rs 86,912 crore.

3. The govt has approved continuation of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), over the 15th Finance Commission Cycle for five years from 2021-22 to 2025-26. It has been appproved with an outlay of around 13 thousand 554 crore rupees.

4. Indiabulls’ e-commerce platform Yaari has laid off around 150 employees, about 60% of its entire workforce, over the last 30 days, Moneycontrol reported. Yaari is planning to shut down business operations and merge with Dhani, another Indiabulls entity,

5. Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) V Anantha Nageswaran on Tuesday said India faces low stagflationary risks as compared with the rest of the world. After data showed GDP growth in January-March quarter (Q4) slowed down to 4.1%, he said there’s considerable momentum in economic activity. RBI’s confidence to raise rates is a sign that economic recovery is taking hold, he added.

1. Singer KK, who was in Kolkata for a concert, passed away on Tuesday evening at the age of 53. The playback singer reportedly collapsed after the concert and was rushed to a private hospital in the city, where he was pronounced dead. He was performing at a concert at Nazrul Mancha.

The last rites of Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala was performed at his native village Moosa in Mansa district on Tuesday with huge crowds gathering at the site. He was shot dead on May 29.

The gallantry awards were given to the personnel of the Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces and Police for displaying conspicuous gallantry, indomitable courage and extreme devotion to duty.

The President also conferred 13 Param Vishisht Seva Medals and 29 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals for distinguished service of an exceptional order. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other dignitaries were present during the ceremony.

3. Group Captain Varun Singh, who was martyred in a helicopter crash that also claimed the life of India’s first CDS General Bipin Rawat, was posthumously awarded Shaurya Chakra by President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday.
