(g) PM Modi said Sanskrit has played a big role in the progress of ancient Indian knowledge and science. He stressed that Sanskrit should be respected and connected with people’s daily life.
3. The three New Criminal Laws- Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, will come into force from today.

The Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, under which 1 crore residential houses would be provided rooftop solar power subsidy across the country, is getting very poor response from people of the two Telugu States. According to sources, only 17,152 applications from Telangana and 29,740 applications from Andhra Pradesh have been received so far under the scheme.
11. The Central Railway has installed a floating solar plant of 10 MWp capacity in the Igatpuri lake located in the Western Ghats, a first-of-its-kind initiative by the Indian Railways.
12. Senior IAS officer Sujata Saunik on Sunday took over as Maharashtra’s chief secretary, becoming the first woman in the state’s 64-year-old history to occupy the top post. Saunik, an IAS officer of the 1987 batch.

1. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) interrogated the accused at Beur Central Jail in Patna, Bihar, in the alleged question paper leak case of the NEET UG examination.

8. In a devastating incident on Sunday (June 30) near Maharashtra’s Bhushi Dam in Lonavala, five members of a family, including four children, tragically drowned in a waterfall. According to the authorities, the incident took place around 1:30 pm when the Bhushi Dam overflowed due to heavy rainfall in the region.

1. General Upendra Dwivedi took charge as the new Chief of the Army Staff in New Delhi. He was an alumnus of the Sainik School, Rewa, the National Defence College and US Army War College, General Upendra Dwivedi has an M Phil in Defence and Management Studies and two Master’s Degrees in Strategic Studies and Military Science. 2. Ex-classmates become Indian Army, Navy chiefs for first time in military history : Army Chief Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi studied together in Class 5 during the 1970s at Sainik School in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa.
3. The Indian Navy’s pride, the indigenously designed and built guided missile stealth frigate INS Shivalik, has reached Pearl Harbour in Hawaii to participate in the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, the largest naval exercise in the world. After completing JIMEX 24, a bilateral exercise with Japan, INS Shivalik sailed into Pearl Harbour on Thursday.
