2. Bengaluru police have set up a Special Investigation Team to examine the death of C J Roy, Founder and Chairman of the Confident Group. C J Roy is found dead at the group’s office on Hosur Road on January 30, and the case draws close public attention.

3. A late-night firing incident was reported outside the residence of Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty in Mumbai’s Juhu area, creating panic among local residents. The incident occurred around 3 am when unidentified persons allegedly fired multiple rounds near the building.

1. The Indian Coast Guard is commemorating its 50th Raising Day today, marking nearly five decades of dedicated, selfless service to the nation. From its beginning in 1977 with just seven surface platforms, the Indian Coast Guard has evolved into a formidable maritime force comprising 155 ships and 80 aircraft today. The Coast Guard is poised to achieve its target force levels of 200 surface platforms and 100 aircraft by 2030.

2. The Indian Air Force conducted a solemn ceremonial honor at Command Hospital (CH) Kolkata for the late Wing Commander Devender Jeet Singh Kler, VM, a distinguished veteran of the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War.

The 43rd Senior National Rowing Championship–2026 concluded on a high note at the Army Rowing Node (ARN) under the Mission Olympics Wing of the College of Military Engineering (CME) in Pune, marking another significant milestone in India’s rowing journey and the broader national sports ecosystem.

6. Commandant Tashi Namgyal has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). This promotion establishes him as the first officer from Ladakh to attain this senior position, exemplifying the rewards of perseverance and commitment in paramilitary service.

The Chief of Army Staff, Upendra Dwivedi, on Friday felicitated two Bactrian Camels, two Zanskari Ponies and two Army Dogs for their outstanding contribution to operations in some of the most challenging deployment areas of the country. The Bactrian camels deployed in the cold deserts of Ladakh have been vital to high-altitude logistics, carrying heavy loads across difficult terrain and steep gradients.

The Zanskari Ponies, an indigenous and endangered breed, have steadfastly supported troops in the icy heights of Siachen Glacier and forward areas.
