3. Union Health Minister Mr Mansukh Mandaviya has said, no case of Omicron, the new COVID variant has been reported in any part of the country. In reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, he also said that so far the new variant has been reported in 14 countries.

4. Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu has rejected the appeal of Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge’s seeking revocation of suspension of 12 MPs of the house. The Rajya Sabha had approved the motion moved by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi for suspension of 12 MPs from the current session for their unruly behavior during the last day of Monsoon Session of Parliament.

5. The Centre on Tuesday extended the nation-wide COVID-19 containment measures till December 31 in view of the emergence of a highly mutant COVID-19 variant Omicron in some countries and asked the states to be vigilant.

6. Air India pilots warn of industrial action if demands not addressed in 3 days
:: Air India pilots have given an ultimatum of three days to the Air India management to meet their demands. In a letter to the aviation secretary (also Air India Chairman and managing director- Rajiv Bansal), sent on Monday evening, the pilots warned that if they do not see the illegal pay cut and related issues being addressed within three days, they will seek justice through industrial action.

7. Skyroot Aerospace, a space technology startup based in Hyderabad, has successfully test-fired Dhawan-1, India’s first privately developed fully cryogenic rocket engine. This will power the upper stages of its upcoming Vikram-2 orbital launch vehicle. The rocket engine Dhawan-1 is named after Satish Dhawan, an Indian rocket scientist.

8. ANDHRA PRADESH is bracing for a severe cyclone which may make landfall between North Andhra and South Odisha on December 4 and will be named as Jawad.

9. ARUNACHAL PRADESH : India’s only certified organic kiwi from Ziro Valley Farms of Arunachal Pradesh was launched at a mega National Tribal Festival called Aadi Mahotsav. This festival is being held in Dilli Hat, INA in New Delhi on 28 Nov. The Aadi Mahotsav is an annual tribal festival, being organized by Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED).

10. GOA: The 7th edition of the four-day India International Science Festival (IISF) is scheduled to be held in Panaji, Goa, from December 10 to 13, 2021. The festival theme in 2021 is “Celebrating Creativity in Science, Technology and Innovation for Prosperous India”. The first IISF was held in New Delhi in 2015.

11.KARNATAKA: Indicating more precautionary measures amid fresh COVID-19 concerns, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai on 30 Nov said his govt was taking utmost precautions, but ruled out the possibility of lockdown in the state.

13.MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday said it has pushed the reopening of schools in the city to December 15, instead of December 1, in the wake of concerns over the emergence of the potentially more transmissible ‘Omicron’ variant of coronavirus.

15. WEST BENGAL: NHAI proposes Gorakhpur-Siliguri expressway::. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) proposed for the alignment of another expressway, that will run from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh to Siliguri in West Bengal via Bihar. This highway is part of Bharatmala project. Estimated cost on this project will be around Rs 6000 crore. The proposed expressway will enter Bihar from Gopalganj and exist from Kishanganj.

16. India’s Gross domestic product, GDP , for the 2nd quarter of the current fiscal logged fastest growth among major economies in the world. According to the govt data released today, GDP of the country grew by 8.4% from a year ago.

FM Nirmala Sitharaman assures support to enhance budget of MSME for growth : MSMEs Minister Narayan Rane today met the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi and held detailed discussion regarding enhancement of budget and continuation of flagship schemes of the Ministry of MSME. Mr. Rane also raised the issue of credit requirements of COVID-hit MSME units. He highlighted the need for credible policy for attracting the foreign investment exiting China to enhance the manufacturing capacity of the MSMEs.

18.. Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) K.V. Subramanian said, India is expected to log double-digit growth in the current financial year, aided by rising demand and a robust banking sector. He said, India is expected to grow at 6.5 to 7 per cent in 2022-23 and over 7 per cent thereafter.

19. PM Modi has condoled the demise of renowned Telugu poet and lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry. Chembolu Seetharama Sastry (20 May 1955 – 30 November 2021), known professionally as Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, was an Indian poet and lyricist known for his works in Telugu cinema and Telugu theatre. He has penned lyrics for over 3000 songs until 2020. In 2019, he was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award in India.

20. *NEW APPOINTMENT*: Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar took charge as the new Chief of Naval Staff on 30 Nov. He succeeded Admiral Karambir Singh, who is retiring from service on November 30.
