1. The National Weather Forecasting Centre, IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall with fairly widespread & widespread over Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra from 14th July to 17th July 2024. IMD issued a red alert to Satara, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri and Thane of Maharashtra.

7. The doors of Ratna Bhandar, the treasure trove of Shri Jagannath Temple at the holy town of Puri in Odisha were reopened yesterday afternoon after more than three decades. A special team opened the doors which had last been opened in 1985, while the inventory of its jewels and other valuables was last conducted in 1978. The doors were opened following the Standard Operating Procedures issued by the state government.

Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Muralidhar Mohol, underscored the significant strides made by India’s aviation sector during the last 10 years, with air transport services now ranking third globally. Mr. Mohol also highlighted that in the last decade, 469 new air routes have been established in India, alongside the construction of new terminals at key airports such as Delhi, Bangalore, and Ayodhya.
