1. All arrangements in place for 7th and final phase of Lok Sabha polling tomorrow; 57 Parliamentary Constituencies across seven states and one Union Territory to go to polls in this phase.

2. The seventh and final phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is scheduled for Saturday, June 1. During this phase, voters from 57 constituencies across eight states and union territories will cast their votes.

The constituencies are located in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Chandigarh. According to the Election Commission’s guidelines, voting will begin at 7 am and end at 6 pm.

3. PM Modi expresses concern over natural disasters in Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura and West Bengal in the aftermath of Cyclone Remal; Assures all possible support to affected states.

4. The southwest monsoon reached sub-Himalayan West Bengal on Friday, covering most parts of the region, nearly a week ahead of schedule, the Met Department said. The southwest monsoon normally reaches northern West Bengal on June 5 and the southern part of the state around June 9.

5. The Swachhata Pakhwada organized by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region has concluded on Friday. The Pakhwada began on the 16th of May with a Swachhata Pledge by officers, staff of MDoNER and its organizations, reaffirming their commitment towards cleanliness activities.

6. The Ministry of Jal Shakti has announced a Mass Communication Internship Programme for students pursuing higher studies in this field in the country. The internship programme will provide an opportunity for selected candidates to work for the Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti.

7. Amid the water shortage in the national capital, the Delhi government on Friday approached the Supreme Court to get immediate additional water from neighbouring Haryana.

8. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday said that Rahul Gandhi is his choice to be the next Prime Minister if the INDIA bloc alliance wins the Lok Sabha elections, stating that he represents the youth and the entire country.

9. Union home minister Amit Shah along with his wife Sonal Shah sought the divine blessings of Lord Venkateswara Swamy at the sacred hill shrine in Tirumala on Friday morning.

10. Senior nuclear scientist Chandrashekhar Gaurinath Karhadkar has taken over as the director of the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) at Kalpakkam, Tamilnadu.

11. Meghalaya government is set to transfer college affiliations from NEHU to the new state university. This move aims to improve autonomy and streamline educational processes in the state.

12. The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), an autonomous body under the Union Ministry of Ayush, launched “PRAGATI- 2024”.

Pharma Research in AyurGyan And Techno Innovation (PRAGATI) aims to explore research opportunities and foster collaboration between CCRAS and the Ayurveda drug industry.

1. In Karnataka, Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna has been sent to six days Special Investigation Team, SIT custody by 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Bengaluru over charges of sexual harassment.

2. A Delhi court yesterday sent Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar to 14 day judicial custody in the alleged Swati Maliwal assault case, stating that the investigation is still at a nascent stage and completing it would require time.

3. In Chhattisgarh, security forces have arrested 16 Maoists from different places of the Bijapur district. Of these, 11 Maoists have been arrested from the Gorna Padiyarpara area under the Bijapur police station area, while, five Maoists have been arrested from the Bhusapur area under the Usur police station area on Thursday.

4. Social media influencer Balwant alias Bobby Kataria, who has been arrested in a human trafficking case, sent 33 people abroad on the pretext of helping them secure jobs, Kataria, who was arrested by the Gurugram police on Monday, was produced in a city court on Friday on the expiry of his three-day police remand and was sent to judicial custody.

5. Election Commission of India has directed Odisha chief electoral officer to take immediate action against Nandighosha TV for telecasting exit polls.

1. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has joined a 16-day multi-nation mega military exercise in Alaska, United States, designed to provide realistic training to participating forces in a simulated combat environment. The exercise, known as ‘Red Flag 24’, commenced on May 30 and will continue until June 14.

2. A company called Agnikul Cosmos, which was started at IIT Madras, made history on May 30, 2024, by safely launching “Agnibaan – SOrTeD,” the world’s first rocket powered by a fully 3D-printed engine.

6. Amidst the ongoing confrontation in eastern Ladakh, China has deployed its most-advanced J-20 stealth fighters at Shigatse, an air base close to Sikkim.
