A devastating industrial accident in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, claimed the lives of six laborers and left many more seriously injured following a massive mishap in a steel factory. In the first reports, the accident happened on Monday afternoon when part of the plant’s furnace section collapsed, leading to a violent explosion followed by a collapse. Local police and fire services teams were in the area within minutes of the distress call. Emergency responders have so far recovered six bodies and several injured workers, who were immediately transferred to nearby hospitals. At least four of them are confirmed by doctors to be in critical condition, needing intensive care. Authorities have not closed the door on more workers being trapped under the rubble.
