Is Also an Endorsement of Its Education Policy
1) Today the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won a landslide victory in the State of Punjab. Capturing 92 out of 117 seats i.e. 78.6%. There can be many reasons for this result.
a) Farmers were agitated, because of the three Farm Bills, later withdrawn by the PM. It was a self goal by the BJP.
b) Infighting in Congress. Tug of war between sing CM Capt. Amarinder Singh and Party President Navjot Singh Sidhu. A self goal by Congress.
c) Introduction of caste politics, by appointing Charanjit Channi an OBC hoping that about 30% Dalit vote in Punjab will lt towards Congress. But the caste factor does not play a prominent role in Sikh community. Kashi Ram, the founder of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) had to sikh’s political base from Punjab to UP. BSP is reduced to one MLA in UP too and near finished. Shi from Caste based politics to development based polices. Social re-engineering by BJP. Another self goal by Congress.
d) Corruption and drugs (Use of Chi
a) prevalent and alleged
involvement of SAD. The influence of big farmers and the Jat
community faded as the common man (Aam Aadmi) got empowered. Social re-engineering by AAP.
e) Seeing is Believing. The camping farmers on the borders of Delhi got a first hand view of the Delhi Model of Governance, further AAP invited educationists and teachers from Punjab to visit Delhi and see its Education Model first hand. This reality check faded the power of the controlled media.
f) Thus all the above factors generated a political vacuum in Punjab.
2) Enter AAP with a clean image and strong governance structure with demonstrated performance in Delhi. One of the biggest strong points of AAP is its Education Policy.
3) AAP spends 25% of Delhi’s budget on education.
4) AAP is building thousands of classrooms for students to bring down class size from over 60 to about 35.
5) Today there is a movement of students from private schools to government schools.
6) Results of government schools in board exams is improving every year
7) Remuneration of contract teachers has been brought near equal to regular teachers.
8) All this is being achieved by the AAP government in Delhi against headwinds, as they are restricted by the authority of the Lieutenant Governor (LG).
RESULT: People of Punjab saw this and appreciated the work of AAP specially in the education sector. Thus the vote in favour of AAP.
Role Model Legislator: Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj is the MLA from Greater Kailash and AAP Party spokesperson. He is one of the most sincere, able, honest and brilliant MLA in AAP. Tickets to candidates in Punjab were given to clean
candidates who were expected to follow the polical conduct and integrity of Mr. Bharadwaj.
FUTURE: AAP was greatly handicapped in Delhi, because all orders/ policies by the elected government are to be approved by the Lieutenant Governor (LG). Further Land, Police and Law & Order is controlled by the Centre through LG. Punjab being a full state, AAP will have a free hand. It is a breakpoint for APP now, it will be able to progress faster and showcase a real successful model of governance in Punjab. This is likely to be infecous and other States would like to follow. Arvind Kejriwal has truly landed on the Naonal Scene of Indian Poltics being other poltical aspirants from TMC, SP, Shiv Sena, RJD, DMK, TRS.
