The Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya, or Museum of Prime Ministers, built on the Teen Murti Bhavan campus in New Delhi, will be inaugurated on 14 April.

The museum, dedicated to all the former PMs of the country and built with a cost of Rs 271 crore, was approved in 2018.

Constructed on a 10,000-square metre piece of land adjacent to the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library in Teen Murti Bhavan, the museum will have exhibits related to the former PMs such as rare photographs, speeches, video clips, newspapers, interviews and original writings on display.

The Culture Ministry officials said that appropriate space had been allocated to galleries of 14 former PMs proportionately according to their term in the office.

“The Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya (Museum of PMs) will be inaugurated on 14 April 2022,” said Kanchan Gupta, senior adviser in Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

“The museum will create awareness about all prime ministers of India, said senior adviser to Information,” Gupta said in a tweet.

It recognises the contribution of all prime ministers irrespective of their ideology, he added.
