Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday heaped praise on the Indian Navy for its quick and successful conduct of Operation Sindoor, a rescue operation that evacuated Indian citizens from the war-torn area of Yemen. Speaking to the nation at a public gathering, PM Modi called the operation more than an operation—it is, in his words, “a symbol of the nation’s resolve and courage.”
The nation stands united behind its citizens abroad.
The Prime Minister underlined that India’s duty towards its citizens is not limited to its domain. He said that the operation reiterated the nation’s resolve to ensure the safety of its people wherever they are. “Whether the deserts of Sudan, the streets of Ukraine or the conflict zones of Yemen, India will always set out for its citizens,” he asserted.
Praise to the armed forces and foreign ministry
PM Modi hailed the combined efforts of the Indian Navy and the Ministry of External Affairs, appreciating their quick coordination and implementation under risky situations. “The bravery of our sailors, the finesse of our diplomats, and the support of the Indian mission locally—together, they achieved this mission,” he stated.
Operation Sindoor saves lives under fire
Operation Sindoor was initiated after Indian nationals reported being stranded in Yemen during increasing violence. During the operation, various Indian nationals, including children and women, were evacuated to safety. The Navy’s front-line warships, with medical and relief teams on board, rendered immediate medical and evacuation assistance.
A message to the world
Concluding his statement, PM Modi reiterated that India’s proactive rescue operations convey one message to the world: “India cares. India acts. And India protects.” The success of Operation Sindoor, he added, must not only give every Indian reason to be proud but also reinforce the nation’s increasing capability on the world stage in terms of humanitarian and strategic response.
