Meerut Murder Case: Muskan, Sahil Didn’t Let Kasol Hotel Staff Clean Room – New updates revealed

meerut case

The gruesome murder of Saurabh Rajput, a merchant navy officer, has taken a new turn with new developments regarding the activities of the accused—his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her supposed paramour, Sahil Shukla. Having allegedly committed the gruesome act, the couple went on a travel trip to Himachal Pradesh, where what they did at a Kasol hotel has now been put in the limelight.

A Chilling Post-Murder Get away

As per police reports, Muskan and Sahil killed Saurabh on March 4, 2025, within their Meerut residence. The investigators suspect that the couple had drugged him, stabbed him several times, and then cut his body into pieces before burying the pieces within a drum filled with cement. In an attempt to erase evidence, they booked a cab and embarked on a road trip, driving through Shimla, Manali, and Kasol. This action seemed to be a well-thought-out attempt to establish an alibi and deflect suspicion from them.

Suspicious Activity at a Kasol Hotel

Hotel registers indicate that the couple had arrived at Hotel Purnima in Kasol on March 10 and checked out on March 16. “Their attitude was extremely strange,” claimed Aman Kumar, the owner of the hotel. During their seven-day stay, they declined housekeeping services and made sure that nobody from the hotel entered their room. They lived isolated lives, interacted sparingly with other guests, and hardly ventured out of their room except once a day in a private vehicle.

Kumar thought that their behaviour was unusual, as the majority of tourists come to Kasol to explore the hills and enjoy outdoor activities, but Muskan and Sahil were confined to their room for most of the duration. Their not letting cleaning staff enter their room has now triggered doubts regarding whether they were keeping evidence or secrecy about their crime. Driver’s Shocking Observations The taxi driver, Ajab Singh, who took them through Himachal Pradesh, also shared alarming details.

He noticed that even though they had committed a ghastly act, neither Sahil nor Muskan exhibited any outward signs of nervousness or guilt. He also disclosed that they hardly communicated with each other on the trip and engaged in Holi festivities, as if nothing had occurred. Singh also added that Muskan got several calls from her mother during the trip, and yet she kept calm and composed and did not express any form of distress. This admission has triggered debate about whether her family was aware of the crime prior to the time it was officially reported.

Family’s Allegations and Legal Action

Saurabh’s mourning family has blamed Muskan’s parents for being aware of the killing prior to informing the police. His mother, Renu Devi, stated that Muskan’s family deliberately waited before going to the police, perhaps with the intention of shielding her. The investigators are now investigating whether Muskan’s parents were aware of the crime beforehand. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police are expediting the legal process, preparing to file a charge sheet soon and pushing for a fast-track court trial to ensure quick justice.

Autopsy Report Reveals Brutality

The autopsy of Saurabh Rajput has confirmed the sheer brutality of the killing. His head was chopped off, his wrists were severed, and his legs were twisted backwards—indicating that the murderers tried to stuff the body into the drum. The report established that the cause of death was shock and excessive bleeding from several deep stab wounds. With all these stunning fresh revelations, the case is increasingly turning into one of the coldest and most carefully plotted kills in recent memory. As proceedings continue, the police are working assiduously towards ensuring quick and severe punishment of the accused.
