Maharashtra: In Maharashtra, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance is set to emerge with 28-32 of the state’s 48 Lok Sabha seats, Axis My India said. That’s a step-down from its tally of 41 seats in 2019 but leaves the alliance well-placed. The BJP’s principal ally, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, could win 8–10 seats, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA)—comprised of Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT), the Congress, and the NCP—would get 16–20 seats.

These have been key battlegrounds-Thane, Mumbai North, and Beed, for instance-and the fractured political texture of the state, marked by in-house splits between the Shiv Sena and the NCP, provided several twists. Maharashtra voting took place in five phases and had generally low turnouts in urban constituencies, including Mumbai: no seat crossed 60%.

Jharkhand: Neck-and-Neck

In Jharkhand, the exit polls give a photo-finish scenario between the BJP and the INDIA alliance led by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Congress. The opposition is focusing more on the local issues and its alliance with other parties, whereas the BJP is relying more on its rural outreach programmes. All the 14 seats are equal and crucial, which makes the outcomes uncertain.

National Outlook: BJP Seeks to Win a Historic Third Term

Sources recommend that the BJP can get the highest number of votes in Maharashtra constituencies with a seats projection of 361–401 seats for the NDA. PM Modi continues the famous slogan “abki baar 400 paar”. It’s highly contrasting that the INDIA alliance will get 131–161 seats. The saffron party is expected to perform well in other key states like Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Odisha, while facing stiffer competition in southern and northeastern states.

The BJP seems good to maintain its previous record and to continue its leadership at the center, but results can be spiced up due to the mixed category of voters in states like Maharashtra and Jharkhand
