Lok Sabha Elections 2024 : Fourth phase achieved 69 % turnout, Andhra leading with 80.66 % and J&K lowest

BHOPAL, 16 MAY 2024 : Lok Sabha Elections 2024: According to the Report of Election Commission of India (ECI). The fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 achieved a total voter turnout of 69.16 per cent, that is higher than the 2019 elections, According to the election body, Andhra Pradesh recorded the highest polling Percentage (80.66 %) on the other hand Jammu and Kashmir recorded the lowest polling percentage with (38.49 %)

Bihar – 58.21 per cent
Telangana – 65.67 per cent
Madhya Pradesh – 72.05 per cent
Maharashtra – 62.21 per cent
Odisha – 75.68 per cent
Uttar Pradesh – 58.22 per cent
Jharkhand – 66.01 per cent
West Bengal – 80.22 per cent

Let’s talk about polling turnout in Andhra Pradesh, in 2019, Andhra Pradesh had recorded a voter turnout of 79.77 per cent while in 2014, it was 78.41 per cent.

As mentioned by the Election Commission, 454 candidates contested for the 25 Lok Sabha seats and 2,387 did so in the Assembly polls.

On the day of polling (Monday, May 13), The report of the poll authority, the turnout stood at 67.25 per cent at 11:45 pm which was 1.74 percentage points higher than 2019 parliamentary poll voting.

After the latest phase, polling has been done in 379 seats across 23 states and Union territories. In the fourth phase of voting , elections were held for 96 seats.

In the Assembly elections of Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh Polling has been done .

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the turnout calculated in the fourth phase was 65.51 per cent. Polling was conducted in 71 seats across nine states.

In the first phase of the ongoing general election, a 66.14-per cent turnout was recorded , In the second phase of the election done on April 26, the turnout was reported at 66.71 per cent , In the third phase of polling voter turnout figures stood at 65.68 per cent

After the scrutiny and depending on the number/schedule of re-poll, The commission will also publish the updated voter turnout along with gender-wise breakup by May 17,” the EC said.

After the fourth of voting , three more phases is left for voting, three remaining phase will be done on May 20 , May 25 ans the last and seventh phase on June 1 , Results will announce on June 4.
