IED Blast By Naxals In Bijapur Led To The Death Of 9 Security Personnel Including A Driver

IED Blast

There was an IED blast by Naxals in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh in the morning, which led to the
immediate death of 8 security personnel and a driver. When they were traveling to the nearby
Dantewada district on a Scorpio vehicle, naxals made them their target of frustration with the
Government and their schemes to eliminate naxals and exploded the whole vehicle.

Central And State Governments’ Response To The Naxal Blast In Bijapur, Chattisgarh
Both the Union Minister And the CM of Chattisgarh have offered their deepest condolences to
the families of the soldiers and drivers who were on duty in the Scorpio vehicle when the
explosion took place.

Union Minister Amit Shah has also vowed that the Government will work harder than ever and
eliminate Naxalism by 2026. The sacrifice of the security personnel who died today will not be in
vain. On the other hand, we oversee that the CM of Chattisgarh Vishnu Deo Sai, and his
ministers observe a minute silence over the blast report at an event in Mahasamund.

Compensation To Families
Till now, no monetary compensation has been offered to the families of the deceased soldiers
and the driver by either state or union Governments, but as we have seen in the past, very
soon, there will be one as our countryтАЩs Government never fails to honor our soldiers’
contribution in safeguarding the lives of countrymen.

Implication
Indeed, this morning incident has again shaken the grounds of Chattisgarh, and broken the
heart of the country. The death of eight soldiers and their driver by the IED blast by Naxals in
Bijapur, Chhattisgarh also raises some serious questions about the security personnel who are
posted in naxal affected areas are they given advanced weapons, vehicles, and tools, because
they receive these posting after such intense training and if are losing their life due to lack of
safe vehicles then Government has somewhere failed to do their job.

Before dealing with naxalism, we must safeguard our security personnel before sending them
off to tough postings. Additionally, we need to promote innovative schemes to deal with
naxalism via soft power as they are our people and the origin of naxalism finds its root in
underdevelopment.
