A double murder in Haryana has sent shockwaves through the region after a young man allegedly killed his mother and her male companion when he found them together, then drove their bodies straight to the police station to confess.
Shocking Sequence of Events Unfolds in Minutes
According to police, the incident occurred late on Monday night in a village in Hisar district. The accused, 26 years old, unexpectedly returned home and found another man inside the house with his mother, according to reports. In a state of fury, he allegedly attacked both of them with a sharp weapon.
Sources say the attack was so sudden and forceful that neither of the victims got a chance to defend themselves. The accused then wrapped up the bodies, put them inside his vehicle and drove nearly 15 km to the nearest police station without telling anyone in the family or neighbourhood.
Walks into Police Station and Confesses
Eyewitnesses at the police station recounted to investigators how he seemed visibly shaken but composed enough to narrate what had happened. Officers recount that he walked in and simply said, “Maine dono ko maar diya. Gaadi mein hain,” which in English means, “I have killed both. They are in the car.”
The police personnel immediately rushed outside and found both bodies in the rear seat of the vehicle. Both the victims were declared dead on the spot, after which the accused was arrested. The weapon used in the crime has also been recovered.
Family Feud and Suspicion Behind the Anger?
Preliminary investigations reveal that the accused had long harboured suspicions regarding his mother’s relationship with the deceased man. The police were also informed by family members that there had been frequent disputes in the house for some months. However, they described the accused as otherwise being a quiet and peaceful man not prone to violence.
The police are investigating whether the murder was committed due to sudden provocation or whether the accused had been nursing a grudge for a long time.
Police Launch Detailed Probe
A case of double murder has been registered, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem. Investigators are now collecting statements from neighbours and relatives to piece together the timeline leading up to the incident. Police officials termed the case “deeply disturbing,” adding that the brutality and the manner in which the accused surrendered have raised serious questions about the emotional state of the family.
