1. Happy Ugadi & Gudi Padwa : Ugadi, also known as Yugadi, is made up of two different words: adi (new beginning) and yug (era). 5. Telangana government has postponed the class 1 to 10 exams on behalf of festivals like Ugadi and Ramzan. Previously the government has concluded the exam date to April 8 to April 15th but now the officially reformed exam date. As per the official announcement, the exam will be conducted from April 15th to April 22nd.
6. Heatwaves to Scorch Andhra, Telangana, Karnataka this Week; Mid-Week rains to bring relief. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heatwaves could scorch some pockets of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema and Telangana and North Interior Karnataka till April 9.
7. Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Monday told the voters of the valley not to vote for the party if they are satisfied with the decision of the abrogation of Article 370. He also appealed to the people of the Union Territory to defeat the BJP and its “B” and “C” teams to send a message across to Delhi.

1. A Delhi court on Monday denied interim bail to Bharat Rashtra Samiti leader K Kavitha, arrested in a money laundering case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam, saying prima facie she not only destroyed evidence but was also instrumental in influencing witnesses and there is ‘every likelihood’ of her continuing to do so in case the relief is granted.
2. Delhi high court on Monday said Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra cannot be prevented from defending herself against allegations made by an estranged friend in public domain as long as her statements are not objectively false.
Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha on December 8 following accusations by the plaintiff that she took bribes from businessman and Hiranandani Group CEO Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions in Parliament.
3. Several Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders on Monday decided to stage a 24-hour dharna outside the Election Commission’s office in Delhi, urging the immediate replacement of the heads of CBI, NIA, ED, and Income Tax Department. The police promptly detained the protesting leaders.
4. Baba Tarsem Singh’s shooter killed in police encounter: A man who shot the dera kar seva chief of the Nanakmatta Sahib Gurdwara in Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar was killed by the Uttarakhand STF and Haridwar Police in an encounter.

1. A fresh batch of Russia-made Igla-S Man Portable Air Defence Systems (MANPADS) has reached IndiaIndia.
The Indian Army has received the first batch of Igla-S Man Portable Air Defence Systems (MANPADS) from Russia, part of a larger deal for 120 launchers and 400 missiles. These systems enhance the Army’s Very Short Range Air Defence (VSHORAD) capabilities, particularly in high mountainous terrain along the northern border.
2. Recently a two-day coastal security exercise called Sagar Kavach 01/24 was conducted off the Lakshadweep Islands from April 1-2, 2024. The exercise involved the participation of all maritime security agencies, including the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, Marine Police, Fisheries, Customs, and other security agencies.
3. Indian Coast Guard Director General Rakesh Pal inaugurated the Indian Coast Guard Aquatic Centre at ICGS Mandapam near Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu, as part of his four-day visit to the maritime force’s bases in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Puducherry. The visit aimed to review operational preparedness and infrastructure development in the region, with a focus on ensuring safe, secure, and clean seas.
4. Hyderabad-based Blue Cloud Softech Solutions Ltd was felicitated by Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), D.
