1. 1. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman virtually launched seven infrastructure projects worth over 1,000 crore rupees from New Delhi. As per the Ministry, for the Central Board of Direct Taxes, the Finance Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Departmental Residential Complex comprising 198 quarters of Type-II and III for the officials of Income Tax Department, in Haryana. Ms. Sitharaman also laid the foundation stone of the Residential Complex at Sector-53, Gurugram, comprising 214 quarters of Type-II to VI for providing adequate residential houses for the officers and officials of the Income Tax Department.

Nepal’s Ambassador to India, Shankar Sharma on Saturday appreciated the new guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India, which allow multiple financial services between the people of India and Nepal.He said that now Nepal citizens can send ₹2 lakh per transaction to Nepal and walk-in customers can remit ₹50,000 per transaction.

Superhit crime-thriller, DRISHYAM, is set to get a Hollywood makeover as production Panorama Studios has partnered with Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films for the international remake of the movie. After South Korea and China, the movie will be recreated in English for Hollywood, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Chairman and Managing Director, of Panorama Studios said.

1. India plans to commission a new naval base in the Lakshadweep islands, off the country’s south-west coast, to boost security in the region, the Ministry of Defense said on Saturday.

2. India’s defence ministry on Friday signed contracts to procure nuclear-capable BrahMos missiles for the navy at a total cost of 195.2 billion rupees ($2.36 billion), India has previously approved purchases of 200 BrahMos missiles. The ministry also signed a contract to purchase a ship borne missile system for 9.88 billion rupees.

3. The Indian Air Force’s Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) in Nyoma, close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, has now been black-topped, while work is ongoing to extend the runway so that it can eventually handle fighter jets. The runway expansion, which will enable the airfield to handle fighter jets in future, is about 15% complete and likely to be finished in two years, according to defence sources.

4. The Indian Army has issued a tender to procure 4×4 ‘light vehicles’ to perform general service (GS) roles. According to a request for proposal (RFP) issued by the Indian Army on 29 February, the service intends to procure 1,054 light vehicles under the ‘Buy (Indian)’ category. Under this category of procurement, at least 50% of the purchased product must be indigenous.

5. Indian and Malaysian navies hold joint drills under Exercise Samudra Laksamana.

6. Union Minister Ajay Bhatt inaugurated the Indian Coast Guard jetty at Vadinar, Gujarat, enhancing infrastructure in the strategically vital North-West region. The Deendayal Port Authority developed the jetty at a cost of ₹74 crore. The ICG’s North-West regional headquarters, established in Gandhinagar in 2009, oversees maritime security in Gujarat, Daman, and Diu.

The Exercise Samudra Laksamana kicked off on February 28 and will continue until March 2, taking place at or off the coast of Visakhapatnam.

7. An Indian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft made a safe landing at Begumpet Airport, Telangana on Friday after encountering a technical snag.
