1. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued rain and thunderstorm activity over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal till 26 Mar.
2. Election Commission is promoting environmentally sustainable elections during the ensuing Lok Sabha and assembly polls. The Commission has issued directions to election machinery and political parties to minimize use of paper for voter list and electoral materials. The poll body has emphasized on the use of eBooks and eDocuments and asked to ensure double-side printing and layout optimization.
3. Chandigarh to host international film festival. Five-day Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF) will be held from March 27 to 31 at Cinepolis in Jagat Mall, Sector 17. Actor Boman Irani will inaugurate the event on March 27.
4. In a significant milestone, Amul fresh milk is set to make its debut in international markets, marking the first time the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) will export fresh milk outside India. Within a week, four variants of milk will be launched in the US market, aimed at catering to the Indian diaspora and the Asian population.
5. Congress party has released a list of five candidates for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls. Prahlad Gunjal will contest from Kota, Ramchandra Choudhary from Ajmer, and Sudarshan Rawat from Rajsamand constituencies in Rajasthan. The Party has fielded Advocate C. Robert Bruce from Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu.
6. In Karnataka, the KRPP leader G Janardhana Reddy merged his party with the Bharatiya Janata Party and rejoined the party along with his wife Aruna Lakshmi ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
7. Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang will contest from two assembly constituencies in the upcoming polls even as his wife Krishna Kumari Rai will take on the opposition SDF’s president Pawan Kumar Chamling in Namchi-Singhithang seat.
8. In Andhrapradesh, YSRC’s ambitious Memantha Siddham (We all are Ready) a 21-day-long bus yatra, spanning from Idupulapaya to Itchapuram, covering 20 Lok Sabha segments. Commencing from the Pulivendula Assembly segment on March 27, the Yatra aims to replicate the successful Siddham meetings held at the regional level.
9. The maximum temperature in the Telangana state expected to gradually increase by 2°C to 3°C over the next five days, according to the Indian Meteorological Department. The city of Hyderabad experienced a brief respite from the heat in recent days due to the formation of two weather systems that brought rain.
10. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday launched a social media campaign asking people to support it for saving the constitution and democracy in the country. Delhi minister and senior AAP leader Atishi said.

1. Noted archaeologist K K Muhammed has claimed the contentious Bhojshala/Kamal Maula Mosque complex in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district was a Saraswati temple and later converted into an Islamic place of worship.
He stressed that Hindus and Muslims should abide by the court’s decision and honour the Places of Worship Act 1991, and sit together to iron out differences over such places.
2. Hyderabad Police have arrested two additional superintendents of police (ASP) in connection with a phone tapping case.
According to the report, additional deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Thirupathanna and additional superintendent of Police N Bhujanga Rao, who were arrested, worked as ASPs in the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) and Intelligence Department respectively.
3. A case has been registered against Tamil Nadu Fisheries Minister Anitha R Radhakrishnan for his alleged derogatory remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at a recent meeting of the DMK party workers.
4. The Aam Aadmi Party will hold the ‘Main Bhi Kejriwal’ campaign and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will not resign from his post, the party decided in a meeting held on Sunday.
The opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) will hold a ‘maha rally’ at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on March 31, with AAP and Congress leaders participating.
5. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who will be contesting from the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency in Himachal, has responded to the objectionable remarks made against her by Congress National Spokesperson Supriya Shrinate and asked her to refrain from making such comments against women.
Supriya Shrinate, in a post which has been deleted now, wrote, “Kya bhav chal raha hai Mandi me koi batayega? (Will someone tell me what the rate system in Mandi is?)”. She had also used a post of the actress in a revealing outfit.
6. Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials are likely to arrest some family members of BRS MLC K. Kavitha in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam. The ED had raided the houses of her nephew Meka Sri Sharan Rao and sister-in-law Akila on March 23. With Kavitha’s police custody coming to an end on Tuesday, the ED officials will produce her before the Rouse Avenue court and file a petition seeking two more days’ custody to question her along with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
7. Two devotees were killed and seven others injured at a shrine following an early-morning stampede triggered by a landslide in Himachal Pradesh’s Una district on Monday, The incident happened at Dera Baba Vadbhag Singh shrine at Mairi village of Amb subdivision.

1. A fire at the renowned Mahakal temple in Ujjain on Monday morning may have been caused by chemicals in ‘gulal’, a coloured powder used in rituals and during Holi. The blaze, which took place in the ‘garbha griha’ (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple at 5:50am, left 14 priests and ‘sevaks’ (assistants) injured.

1. Tata Cummins Private Limited (TCPL), a joint venture between Tata Motors Limited and Cummins Inc. USA, has inaugurated a new factory in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, to produce hydrogen-based internal combustion engines (ICEs) for medium and heavy commercial vehicles.
2. State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest bank, offers unlimited free-of-cost ATM transactions to its customers at its own ATMs as well as at the ATMs of other banks under certain conditions. For instance, customers maintaining an average monthly balance (AMB) of more than Rs 25,000 in their savings bank accounts at SBI enjoy unlimited domestic transactions within the bank’s ATM network of the bank but are required to maintain an average monthly balance of more than Rs 1 lakh to enjoy the same benefit at the ATMs of other banks.

1. Operation Sankalp in the Gulf of Aden completed 100 days, which involve deployment of 5000 person ,21 ships and 900 hour of maritime surveillance aircraft. It also involve 40 hour of operation by destroyer INS Kolkata to secure Vessel Ruen and forced surrender of 35 pirates and freed 17 crews
This operation was carried out at a distance of 2600 km away from Indian coast by IAF C-17 aircraft dropped Marine commando and combat boat.
2. Indian Coast Guard (ICG) rescued five fishermen from a sinking Indian fishing boat at mid-sea, approximately 50 km from Porbandar. The ICG’s action came in response to an SOS call. ICG Ship C-16 quickly arrived in the vicinity of the fishing boat in a short time and launched the rescue and support mission.
3. India Coast Guard ship Samudra Paheredar, a specialized Pollution Control Vessel, reached Manila, Philippines on Monday, marking the commencement of its (overseas deployment) OSD mission to Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) countries. ASEAN countries includes Brunei Darussalam, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
4. A Kalvari class submarine of the Indian Navy made its first-ever visit to Campbell Bay, the southernmost port of India in the Andaman and Nicobar islands.
