1. India is set to experience extreme heat during the April to June period, with the central and western peninsular parts expected to face the worst impact, the IMD said on Monday.

Effective from April 1, users with multiple FASTags for one vehicle won’t be able to use them all. FASTag ensures seamless toll payments using RFID technology.

1. Supreme Court refused to stay the Varanasi court order of 31st of January by which Hindu parties were allowed to hold puja in the southern cellar of the Gyanvapi Mosque. A bench of Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, however, ordered the parties to maintain status quo at the Gyanvapi premises to enable both the communities to offer religious prayers.
2. Indian law enforcement agency, Enforcement Directorate (ED), made a bold claim on Monday (Apr 1) that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal named Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and state ministers while being questioned in connection with the liquor policy case. He reportedly took Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj’s names.
3. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was sent to Tihar Jail after a court remanded him in judicial custody till April 15 in the excise policy case, will remain under 24×7 watch with CCTV cameras in his cell and could watch TV and read books, officials said.
4. Delhi Court has granted Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal permission to have specific books, including the Bhagwat Gita, Ramayana, and “How Prime Ministers Decide,” during his time in judicial custody. In addition, Kejriwal has been allowed to receive home-cooked meals, medications, his own bedding, and other essentials such as mattresses and pillows.
5. The Bombay High Court on April 1 granted interim protection from arrest to former zonal director of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Sameer Wankhede. The court said no coercive steps should be taken against Mr. Wankhede till April 10.
6. Suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Sheikh Shahjahan’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody was extended till April 13 by Kolkata’s session court on Monday.
7. Supreme Court on Monday refused to stay the ongoing ‘scientific survey’ of Bhojshala Complex in Dhar in Madhya Pradesh but directed that no physical excavation should be done which could alter the appearance of the structure. The court further ordered that no action should be taken based on ASI survey report without its permission.

1. HAL on Monday announced that it achieved the highest-ever revenue from operations of more than ₹29,810 crore for the financial year 2023-24, which accounts for around 11% growth compared to 9% during the previous financial year when the figure stood at ₹26,928 crore. The firm received fresh manufacturing contracts of over ₹19,000 crore.
2. The Heavy Engineering arm of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has flagged off the first Steam Generator (SG), for indigenously developed 10 X 700 MWe PHWR Fleet Program, 12 months ahead of contractual delivery.
These Steam Generators are the most critical components supplied to Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL), aimed at bolstering India’s nuclear power program and achieving India’s COP26 commitment of net zero carbon emission by 2070, under Honourable Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi’s vision of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat”.
3. India will reimpose limits on imported solar energy modules, after relaxing curbs for a year, in a relief to domestic manufacturers that had complained of cheaper shipments from overseas. The eased rules ended on March 31 and an approved list of domestic models and manufacturers will come back into effect the next day, the renewable energy ministry said.
4. The Finance Ministry unveiled a special Rs 90 denomination coin marking the 90th anniversary of the RBI. This distinctive commemorative coin, made with 99.99% pure silver and weighing around 40 grams, symbolises the rich history and accomplishments of the RBI spanning nine decades.

1. India has delivered two Dornier-228 aircraft Guyana as part of the Line of Credit, initiating a new chapter in the partnership between the two countries.

6. The Western Command of the Indian Army successfully tested the Akash Surface-to-Air Missile System on Sunday, March 31. The test, conducted as part of routine drills to assess the operational readiness of India’s defence forces, marks a milestone in the country’s defence capabilities.
7. The Indian Air Force (IAF) to kick off mega ‘ GAGAN SHAKTI-2024 ’ 10-day drills. Gagan Shakti-2024’ exercise is “in a realistic environment“. It will conducted from 01 April 10 Apr, it includes all air force bases and assets scattered across the country.
8. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh has said that for the first time the country’s defence Exports have crossed 21 thousand crore rupees mark in 2023-24. In a social media post, Mr Singh said, the defence export have witnessed a spectacular growth of over 32% over the previous fiscal year.
