A government hospital in Shimla has been in the news for all the wrong reasons after a video went viral on social media with the doctor beating up a patient, who was lying in a hospital bed. The video, full of all the horror and terror, has left the medical fraternity embarrassed and angry.

After the furor, the hospital administration revealed that the matter was being given due seriousness. A senior member of the hospital administration has confirmed that the situation is being investigated internally, and the concerned doctor has been asked for an explanation regarding the actions that caused the furor. The police are also taking notice of the video and are ascertaining the legitimacy of the video before taking any further steps.
“Statements will be recorded from the hospital staff, the patient, as well as witnesses,” officials reported. In regard to the incident, one police officer added that “no one is above the law. If the allegations were true, strict action will be taken.”

The family of the patient accused the doctor of improper behavior without any reason and demanded his immediate suspension. They said the patient was already ill when the attack pushed his illness further.
