Delhi:- Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will be providing ticketless travel facilities to the visitors of the trade fair as part of an effort to modernize and make things easier for them in buying tickets with the upgrade of its revamped Momentum 2.0 app that will be incorporating a new feature called QR-based ticketing. The QR-based system will facilitate digital ticketing for metro travel and events so that visitors can access tickets conveniently and reach venues other than physical queues at ticket counters, especially in peak hours at trade fairs.

How the QR Code-Based Ticketing Works

The users can now seek an easy digital ticketing process with the Momentum 2.0 application by choosing the “QR Ticket” option on the home screen. Finally, the users will select a source and a destination station, and once the payment is made through UPI, credit/debit cards, or net banking, a QR code would be generated within the app that would be scanned directly at the entry and exit points of the metro. Thus, it completely eliminates paper tickets or tokens—the process becomes faster and greener.

Other features of Momentum 2.0

The key highlighted feature in the updated app version of Momentum 2.0, that was built in association with AutoPe Payment Solutions Pvt. Ltd., is trade fair ticketing on QR-based tickets. Other new features included in it are: digital locker rentals at some metro stations, e-shopping, utility bill payments, and metro card recharging. They vary in size, serving to accommodate commuters with the requirement for safe storage; one can reserve space that starts as low as an hourly charge. This integration will minimize the use of individual apps through providing an integrated mode of metro and utility services.

The Momentum 2.0 app and its ticketing system using a QR code are a step forward toward making things convenient for Delhi Metro commuters digitally. The attempt to minimize waiting times and improve the overall commuting experience is through the betterment of accessing tickets. It will also bring multiple services in a single app, and so DMRC is expected to lessen the waiting time and hence make the commuters enjoy less waiting and more traveling. The new feature of ticketing will easily ease congestion at the ticket counters during major events such as trade fairs. Eventually, it will make for a better transit experience on all metros in the Delhi-NCR region.
