Haryana: Significant political development occurred on 17 October 2024 when Nayab Singh Saini took oath as a new Chief Minister of Haryana. The ceremony was performed in Chandigarh and there were a number of important political figures on the place, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Saini is a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a familiar face in Haryana politics; he was elected CM of the state after Manohar Lal Khattar resigned as CM.

The oath of office was administered by Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya to Saini at the swearing-in ceremony that became a rather elaborate affair held at the Raj Bhavan. Amit Shah made an all earnest effort to praise Saini’s commitment towards people of Haryana, so he said.
Faces several challenges
Saini Nayab Singh Saini, the newly appointed Chief Minister, faces several challenges ahead. These include issues related to agricultural developments, unemployment, and rural development. Thus, there is a strong possibility that his immediate priorities would be mainly towards ensuring that the state continues in its growth curve economically, while keeping law and order intact. With BJP’s central leadership seen supporting Saini, it would be yet another time that the State would witness new policy regimes to bolster the state’s infrastructure and overall development.
Nayab Singh Saini is the new Chief Minister of Haryana. His leadership, with the strength of BJP’s political machinery behind, will prove a turning point in the course of Haryana’s politics, since expectations are high that he might fulfill the dreams of development and proper governance.
