New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of politicizing the recent bomb threats in schools in the national capital. The AAP leaders alleged that the threats were being exaggerated to create fear and tarnish the image of the Delhi government.
The accusations
Senior AAP leader Atishi said, “These bomb threats are baseless and fabricated. The BJP is using these issues to create fear among parents and students and divert attention from their failures at the center. She added that such tactics were aimed at sabotaging the achievements of the Delhi government in education.
Counterattack by BJP
Responding to allegations, BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana called the AAP statement irresponsible. “Child safety is a serious issue. Instead of blaming us, the Delhi government should focus on ensuring safety in schools,” he said.
Increasing incidents of terrorism
In recent weeks, several schools in Delhi have reported receiving bomb threats via email. Law enforcement has declared almost half of the threats as fraud, but they disrupted academic activities and caused panic among students and parents.
