Air quality turns poor in Delhi

Delhi NCR recorded its air quality in the very poor category

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai last week said bursting firecrackers in the national capital on Diwali will attract a jail term of up to six months and a fine of Rs 200.

But how effective was this ban ??
Delhi was still thundered by firecrackers throughout the night. High-intensity firecrackers could be heard going off on the ground or mid-air. Despite the ban the intensity of bursts made people wonder if any ban was really there ?

The 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) of 312 was recorded on Monday . It’s a poor number however comparing it with other days in Diwali it’s the second best in seven years .

Still many people have faced problems and will face them in a few days to come . People have complained about itchy skin , and burning sensation on skin due to smoke . People with respiratory problems have severe problems due to the smoke . It further ignites their problem . Many health issues can get triggered.
Decline in Air quality shows the ineffectiveness of the government to enforce the ban and it would not be wrong to say it shows the irresponsibility of people towards the environment too.
