After IAF Aircraft Developing Snag, PM Modi Leaves Deoghar; alternative Aircraft Arranged

PM Modi 1 1

Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was left stranded here on Friday morning as his Indian Air Force aircraft developed a technical snag. The aircraft had problems just before taking off from the Rs 450-crore Maa Tara Temple, reports said.

Officials were alleged to have chosen caution and made alternative arrangements so that PM Modi was not detained.

Plans for moving PM on another aircraft were soon in place after the hitch. The two-hour delay saw PM Modi staying put at Deoghar where the necessary logistical arrangements would be organized. His journey to Delhi resumed without incident on the replacement aircraft.

Hectic Schedule Amid Set-Backs

The Prime Minister has already been engaged in various functions in Jharkhand, such as a public speech and the launch of infrastructure projects. With the technical snag, PM Modi saw to it that his commitments were not affected and kept his team in touch.

Enhanced Security and Procedures

What is most important here is that the security protocols adopted to safeguard the Prime Minister are indeed quite strict. The officials from the Air Force and those on the ground collaborated to sort out the problem in such a way that security was not compromised, but nor were the schedules.

Outcome and Follow-Up

Technical glitches in aircraft, especially while the VVIP is moving, are few and, in themselves, speak to the need for proper maintenance and preparedness. The government would likely review the incident to prevent a recurrence.

PM Modi was safely flown into Delhi late in the evening and his engagements went off, of course, without a hitch. The episode goes to show how coordination between the IAF and the PMO can function to manage unforeseen setbacks.
