Why now

Why now

“Appreciate the moments when you are in them. In a blink, they are but memories.”

We are living in uncertain times, we may think or assume that a time will come when everything will work out magically. But will it?

In fact, the beauty of life lies in learning to embrace life itself. Do you remember Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times? He played the role of a factory worker who despite the rise of industrialization and poverty, chose to be happy and made others laugh too.

World wars, pandemics, economic depression, disasters, and political insurgence leave us rattled. But categorizing them as separate from the normal days is a fool’s errand. We must learn- it is what it is. And look for the light in the direst of situations.

The day will come when the monsoon will transcend to winter and winter to summer but whether we fight the change or become indifferent is our choice. We are not offered a lot of choices to choose from. Either it is limited or none.

Unlike games, we have one shot at life. And henceforth, we do not have the liberty to resurrect after death and start all over again. We must learn to live and live as we must in the righteous way possible filled with an abundance of light, love, and kindness.

There are various paths leading to the same destination i.e salvation of our soul. We may pick a religion, spiritual leader, or our conscience as a guide to reach there but ultimately it is we who are to look after the needs of the soul.

Indeed, difficult times are a blessing because it rules out most of the embarrassing moments we would have had otherwise when left unchecked for a time. In fact, when we are put in conclusive situations, we tend to discover much faster about ourselves, our skills, our gifts, our intelligence, our true friends, and our purpose.

It is often in the end, that we see things clearly. This is one of the reasons wise men have suggested anticipating their own death coming, so we appreciate each pulse that beats inside our hearts.

That is why it is always now or never. Because there is no future based on the promise of good tomorrow. Whatever that exists is just for now. And the concepts of good and bad times are heavily flawed.

Hope is a thing with feathers. As pleasant as it may sound, it is dangerous to lay it centered on it. So, be it now! Whatever our heart logs for, sing it now! It is time… It is now…
