Why Gandhiji became ‘Father of the Nation’ 

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was the first person to call Mahatma Gandhi as the ‘Father of the Nation.’ Later, the Parliament of Independent India officially recognised Gandhiji as the Father of the Nation.

Father of the Nation was given to the Mahatma by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, who in his address on Singapore Radio on 6 July 1944 has addressed Mahatma Gandhi as Father of the Nation.
