The venom causes a burning pain at the site of the wound that some say feels like fire. Red ants are also more aggressive than black ants.. Red Ants can be found in the ground, and you may even see a large mound marking the location of a colony.
Black ants will bite and spray acid on the wound, but it doesn’t hurt as bad as the venom from a red ant. Black ants are more of a nuisance than a health concern. Black ants will nest in trees, wood, and you may even find them in your house. Unlike red ants, black ants are not aggressive and my not even bite a human unless they’re startled.
*Both red and black common ants bite. But the amount of formic acid released by black ants is negligible and therefore not noticeable. But red ants deliver high amount of formic acid in their bite and therefore give more pain,swelling and redness.
