1. Super Typhoon Yagi made a landfall in northern Vietnam after wreaking havoc in the Southern Chinese island province of Hainan. Yagi had already claimed 16 lives in the Philippines, the first country it hit earlier in the week.
2. An American activist, Aysenur Ezgi Eygi was killed after she was hit by a bullet in head while participating in a protest in the town of Beita in West Bank’s Nablus district. The UN has said, it would want that a full investigation is done into the killing of a US-Turkish woman in the West Bank during a protest.
3. South Korea and the United States held simulation drills in Washington this week to enhance nuclear deterrence cooperation, amid up stepped-up security coordination by the allies to counter evolving North Korean threats.
4. In Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, four suicide bombers were killed when security forces repulsed an attack on a military headquarters.
5. In Bangladesh, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said that at least nine people died of dengue, and 1,963 people were hospitalised across the country in the first six days of September.
6. At least 10 Palestinians were killed in Israeli bombings targeting two residential houses in central and southern Gaza Strip.
7. In Canada, a Pakistani national was arrested after being charged with attempting to provide material support and resources to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS).
8. The Israeli army withdrew from the West Bank city of Jenin after a 10-day operation. The Palestinian Civil Defence announced that more than 25 km of streets and neighbourhoods in Jenin City and its camp were completely destroyed by the army’s operation.
9. A significant petroleum and natural gas deposit has been discovered in Pakistan’s territorial waters. The three-year survey, conducted with a friendly country, identified the location of these reserves. While exploration proposals are being studied, extraction could take several years and substantial investment. This discovery could potentially transform Pakistan’s economy.
10. ‘ *Starliner is back on Earth’: Boeing Starliner successfully lands without NASA astronaut Sunita Williams* : Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft has successfully landed at White Sands Space Harbor in New Mexico after an uncrewed journey from the ISS. Initially launched with NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, the spacecraft returned without them due to safety concerns.
