1. External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to President Donald Trump and conveyed to him that India is looking forward to further strengthening the India-US comprehensive global and strategic partnership.

2. On the humanitarian assistance provided to Afghanistan, the External Affairs Spokesperson informed that 50 thousand metric tonnes of wheat, 300 tonnes of medicines and 28 tonnes of earthquake relief material have been provided to Afghanistan.

3. Giving a boost to mutual relations between India and Bhutan, Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya inaugurated the Darranga Immigration Check Post in the presence of Bhutan’s Prime Minister, Lyonchhen Dasho Tshering Tobgay, in Tamulpur district.

4. India has expressed concern over the ongoing drought situation in Zambia and underscored its pledge to provide material assistance to Zambia in the form of 2,500 metric tons of maize, which is expected to reach Zambia soon.

5. In Sri Lanka: 24 low-income families get houses under Model Village Housing Project. High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha and officials from the Sri Lankan Ministry of Rural and Urban Development, Housing and Construction inaugurated and handed over houses to 24 families. The houses built under India’s Model Housing Project are located at Thiththavelkiwla in Monaragala.

Indian Consulate in Toronto announced the cancellation of several scheduled consular camps, citing the Canadian authorities’ failure to provide the minimum level of security protection for these events. This move follows violent clashes at a recent consular camp outside the Hindu Temple in Brampton, near Toronto, which saw disruptions by extremists.
