1. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the French Space Agency (CNES) have agreed to work together on a satellite mission called TRISHNA. This is because rising temperatures around the world mean that environmental monitoring needs to be better.
2. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Ukraine at a convenient time. The invitation came during a phone conversation between the two leaders, where Zelenskyy congratulated Prime Minister Modi on his recent election victory.

In a sharp response to China’s protest over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reply to Taiwan President Lai Ching Te’s congratulatory message, Taipei said on Friday that Beijing’s actions are “utterly unjustified.” The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan in its statement also said that the island remains dedicated to “building partnerships” with India.

1. Somalia has reached a major milestone by becoming the first country since the 1970s to have a non-permanent place on the UN Security Council. This change, which was revealed after a vote in the 193-member UN General Assembly in which Somalia got 179 votes, is a major step forward in the country’s international relations and government after decades of civil war. The seat is meant for East Africa, and Somalia won it without any competition.
2. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of Britain apologized on Friday for leaving early from a D-Day commemoration in France, admitting to a major public relations misstep in the heat of a general election campaign.
Sunak’s apology came after a storm of criticism, with the election less than four weeks away. The Labour Party condemned his early departure as a “dereliction of duty.
3. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s policy to raise the minimum income requirement (MIR) for family visas is being challenged in the high court.
The policy, which now requires applicants to earn £29,000 annually to bring a loved one to the UK, is argued to separate children from their parents and discriminate against women and minorities.
4. Major Russian drone attacks overnight caused damage in Kyiv, Odesa and other Ukrainian cities, according to Ukrainian officials on Friday.
Moscow’s forces dispatched 53 combat drones and five cruise missiles, although Ukrainian air defences shot down all but five drones, the Ukrainian Air Force said.
