1. International Union for Conservation of (IUCN) officially recognized India’s first Dugong Conservation Reserve, located in Palk Bay, Tamil Nadu, during the 2025 IUCN World Conservation Congress.
2. The Government of India recently invited applications for research and innovation projects under its Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma-MedTech Sector scheme. This initiative aims to transform the sector into a globally competitive and innovation-driven industry. With a total approved budget of Rs 5,000 crore, the scheme is expected to support about 300 projects.
3. The 11th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) opened in Dubai in 2025, attracting over 3,300 participants from more than 30 countries. The summit, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, focused on accelerating the global green economy through innovation and collaboration.

1. China has opened the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou, claiming the title of the world’s tallest bridge. Soaring about 2,050 feet above a river and gorge, the bridge surpasses the Royal Gorge Bridge in Colorado, which stands 956 feet above the Arkansas River.
2. After the October production hike, OPEC+, the group comprising the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries plus Russia and some smaller producers, has decided to raise oil output by 137,000 barrels per day (BPD) from November. OPEC+ has increased its oil output targets by more than 2.6 million bpd this year.

7. In Nepal, heavy rain triggered landslides and flash floods, blocking roads, washing away bridges and killing at least 47 people since Friday.
