1. The Seventh Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly inaugurated at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

2. India has condemned the attack on a Hindu temple in Canada’s Ontario perpetrated by extremists and separatists at Brampton. New Delhi has expressed deep concern about the safety and security of Indian nationals in Canada. Earlier External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal asked the Canada government to ensure that all places of worship are protected from such attacks.

3. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met with Chancellor of University of Queensland Peter Varghese in Brisbane, Australia. In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar said that during the meeting, they exchanged views on educational and research collaborations between India and Australia.

4. India and Algeria signed the Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) on bilateral defence cooperation. The MoU will elevate the defence partnership between both nations, fostering mutual understanding and enhancing strategic interests. It was signed by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army Saíd Chanegriha in the presence of military and officials.

5. Canadian MP Chandra Arya condemns Khalistani supporters attack on Hindu worshipers in Brampton.

6. India and France have been elected as President and Co-President of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) for a two-year term from 2024 to 2026. India was the sole candidate for the presidency, while France won the co-presidency in a contest with Grenada.

7. The 352nd Governing Body meeting of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) is currently taking place in Geneva. This important gathering began on October 28 and will run until November 7, bringing together representatives from member countries to discuss key labor issues and strategies for improving working conditions globally.

1. The United States will vote for its 47th President today. Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris are locked in a tough fight for the top post.

2. In Indonesia, at least 10 people lost their lives after a series of volcanic eruptions took place in the eastern part of the country, spewing explosive plumes of lava and ash on surrounding villages and burning down several houses.

3. An Israeli airstrike has killed senior Hezbollah commander Abu Ali Rida in Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Rida was targeted in the airstrikes near Baraachit in the southern part of Lebanon.

4. The Ministry of Tourism will participate in the World Travel Market London beginning today at ExCeL London. This three-day-long international travel and tourism event will conclude on the 7th of November.

5. Moldovan President Maia Sandu has taken the lead in the presidential runoff with 54.19% of the vote, while her main rival, former Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo, trails with 45.81%.
