1. INDIA’S HELICOPTERS BEING FLOWN MALDIVES DEFENCE PERSONNEL ONBOARD : Weeks after India withdrew its military personnel from the Maldives, the two helicopters gifted by Bharath to the island nation are operated regularly with an Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) soldier onboard.
2. The High Commission of India in Maldives lauded the flagship development partnership project in the Maldives – Greater Male Connectivity Bridge.
The Greater Male Connectivity Project is being implemented with an Indian grant and concessional credit of USD 500 mn. It is funded through a USD 400 million Line of Credit (LoC) and a USD 100 million grant from India.
3. India and Denmark on Monday started a four-day bilateral dialogue between the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India and Statens Serum Institute (SSI), Ministry of the Interior and Health of Denmark, in New Delhi.
4. The event aims to strengthen cooperation between both nations in the fields of infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and the One Health approach.
5. After the Maldives announced a ban on the entry of individuals holding Israeli passports into the country, the Israel Embassy in India has asked Israeli citizens to visit India and explore Indian beaches. The embassy noted that Israeli tourists are warmly welcomed in India.

1. MALDIVES & CHINA DISCUSS FURTHER BOLSTERING DEFENCE TIES : Mohamed Muizzu announced that the Maldives would get free “non-lethal” military equipment and training from China’s military under the agreement and underlined that it would further strengthen the Indian Ocean island nation’s independence and autonomy.
2. The leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) on Tuesday expressed solidarity for the comprehensive Israel’s deal outlined by US President Biden and called on Hamas to accept the deal, further urging the countries with influence over Hamas to help ensure that it does so.
3. Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) criticized Chinese Defence Minister Dong Jun’s “provocative and irrational” remarks on Taiwan at the Shangri-La Dialogue and stated that his remarks violated the United Nations Charter and could impact peace and security in the Asia-Pacific region.
4. Climate scientist and former mayor of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum (61 years), has been elected as the first woman to be elected as President of Mexico. She will also be the first Jewish leader of Jewish heritage to hold the office.
