1. External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar will be on an official visit to Sri Lanka.

2. India has rejected a report by US Commission on International Religious Freedom report, terming it as malicious. In response to media queries regarding Country Update on India in the USCIRF report, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal called USCIRF a biased organization with a political agenda which continues to misrepresent facts and peddles a motivated narrative about India.

3. United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has expressed deep appreciation for India and other countries who are contributing troops to the peacekeeping operation in Lebanon amid the growing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

4. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, and US Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo jointly chaired the India-U.S. CEO Forum held in Washington D.C., USA.

1. In Sri Lanka, the Election Commission has announced that the Local Council Elections will be conducted soon after the conclusion of the Parliamentary Election.

2. In 🇹🇼Taiwan, eight people were killed in a fire that broke out in a hospital in Pingtung. The hospital authorities said that the fire was caused by the combustion of an air compressor in a hospital building’s machine room, adding that most of the victims were elderly hospitalised patients.

3. Dozens of tigers, three lions and a panther have died in zoos in southern 🇻🇳Vietnam, with subsequent tests detecting cases of bird flu. The country’s Ministry of Health in a statement said.

4. Philippe Lazzarini, commissioner-general of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) cautioned that hunger is spreading in Gaza amid the continuous Israeli offensive.

5. In 🇱🇧Lebanon, the total number of displaced persons has risen to nearly 1.2 million due to Israeli airstrikes.

6. In the USA, the death toll from Hurricane Helene has risen to 183. Hundreds are still missing as a result of the storm across Southeastern states.

7. A truck carrying migrants from India, Pakistan, Nepal and several other countries was fired upon by Mexican soldiers near the Guatemala border, resulting in the deaths of six migrants, Mexico’s Defence Department reported.
