1. India is building three new strategic oil reserves in Odisha, Rajasthan, and Gujarat to ensure energy security and prepare for future emergencies. These are very large storage areas where the country can keep crude oil safe for future use.

2. PM Modi addressed the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana in the capital, Accra. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said, the relationship between India and Ghana knows no bounds, noting the friendship between the two nations is sweeter than Ghana’s famous “Sugar Loaf Pineapple”.

3. External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar questioned Western nations for not supporting India’s position on terrorism and stressed the need for a more unified global response. Replying to media queries during a media briefing in Washington.

4. The Ministry of External Affairs has expressed deep concern at the abduction of three Indian nationals employed at the Diamond Cement Factory in Kayes, Mali. The incident occurred on the first of this month when a group of armed assailants carried out a coordinated attack at the factory premises and forcibly took the Indian nationals as hostages.

5. The Commerce and Industry Ministry has organised a Mango Promotion Programme in Abu Dhabi as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the global presence of Indian agricultural products, particularly mangoes. The event marked the launch of ‘Indian Mango Mania 2025’-a vibrant in-store mango festival held in collaboration with the Embassy of India in the UAE and the Lulu Group.

6. US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Mignon Houston announced that student visa applications for the United States are now open and encouraged students to apply. She emphasised that all visa decisions are based on national security and that students must use their visas strictly for study purposes.

2. In the US, four people were killed and 14 others injured in a mass shooting late last night in Chicago’s River North neighbourhood.

3. In Pakistan, several human rights organisations have raised concerns about the forcible disappearance of six men from multiple districts of Balochistan carried out by the Pakistani forces.

4. Hamas has said that it is conducting consultations on ceasefire proposals from international mediators aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.

5. In United States, 15 people were hospitalised after a skydiving plane veered off the runway and crashed into nearby woods during takeoff at Cross Keys Airport in New Jersey.
