1. US President Donald Trump has imposed a 26% reciprocal tariff on Indian imports, citing India’s high tariffs on American goods. This move is expected to impact several Indian industries and exporters, though India remains better positioned compared to other nations facing steeper tariffs.

2. PM Modi has arrived in Bangkok, Thailand, to attend the 6th BIMSTEC Summit, marking a significant moment for regional cooperation under the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).

3. China and India mark the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations established on 1 April 1950, both nations have exchanged congratulatory messages and expressed willingness to work together from a strategic and long-term perspective.

4. The second edition of Start-Up Mahakumbh commenced on 3 April 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, and is set to run until April 5. The event, organized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), marks a significant expansion compared to its inaugural edition. More than 10,000 delegates from 50+ countries are attending, along with 1,000 investors and incubators.

5. India and Thailand sign six agreements in various fields including IT, maritime and MSME; Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds bilateral talks with his Thai counterpart P. Shinawatra.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed gratitude to his Thai counterpart Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra for giving him a copy of the Tipitaka in Pali. PM Modi also termed it as a special gesture for him. Narendra Modi has described the iStamp released by the Thai Government in his honour.

2. The European Union (EU) has announced its readiness to implement countermeasures in response to new tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, escalating tensions in transatlantic trade.The tariffs, which include a 20% levy on European goods and a 25% tariff on automobiles made outside the U.S., are set to take effect next week.

3. The South Korean Constitution is all set to present its verdict on the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol. The court has said that the verdict will be out at 11 AM on Friday.
