1. *CHINA HOLDS 65TH-ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS OF ITS TIBET TAKEOVER IN NEW VILLAGES:* China, which is building numerous villages in Tibet close to its borders with India and Bhutan, has held several celebratory events to mark its takeover of Tibet in the new border villages with a mix of border troops and the local population.
2. The Indian Navy carried out a daring rescue operation in the Arabian Sea on March 29, saving 23 Pakistani nationals from Somali pirates aboard the Iranian fishing vessel Al-Kambar. The rescued crew expressed their gratitude by chanting ‘India Zindabad.’
3. The Indian Embassy in Cambodia has been promptly responding to complaints from Indian nationals who were “lured” with employment opportunities in Cambodia but were forced to undertake illegal cyber work, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has said on Saturday.

1. Pakistani former premier Benazir Bhutto’s youngest daughter Aseefa was elected unopposed as a member of Parliament from NA-207 Shaheed Benazirabad on Friday. Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari filed her nomination papers to contest the by-election on 17 March.
2. All hostages from Dutch nightclub released: Several people were taken hostage at a club in the Dutch town of Ede by a man with weapons and explosives. Police later said three people have been released but did not clarify whether more remain inside the club.
3. British army ends century-old ban to allow troops to grow beards: After more than a century of having their clean-shaven chins inspected, soldiers and officers in the British army will be allowed to grow beards. The change in policy is not a chance for a hirsute free-for-all, however, as facial hair will be strictly monitored for length and grooming.
4. Five people were killed and dozens others were wounded by gunfire and a stampede during an aid delivery on Saturday (March 30) in northern Gaza, Palestinian Red Crescent said. The northern Gaza has been the epicenter of the fighting between Israel and Hamas.
5. Eight Chinese migrants were found dead on a beach in southern Mexico after the boat they were on capsized.
6. Baltimore’s collapsed bridge reconstruction is expected to take anywhere from 18 months to several years, and the estimated $400 million in expenditures could double that amount, according to experts.

The students of Government Boys Degree College in Skardu staged massive protests by blocking roads while demanding uninterrupted power supply in the area.The students organised this sit-in on Friday to raise their voices, claiming that they have not had any electric power at the college or the hostel for more than a month.
