1. Senior military commanders from India and China convened the 23rd round of Corps Commander-Level talks at the Moldo-Chushul border meeting point on the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC).The discussions focused on sustaining stability and managing tensions across the western sector of the border.

2. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully executed a complex long-range medical evacuation of a seriously injured Iranian fisherman from the dhow Al-Owais, positioned deep in the Arabian Sea around 1,500 kilometres west of Kochi.The multi-agency operation began on 27 October and concluded the following day.

3. The European Union’s Ambassador to India, Herve Delphin, has lauded the positive developments in the ongoing Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations between India and the European Union.

4. The Congress leader Jairam Ramesh launched a sharp yet measured barb at Prime Minister Narendra Modi following President Donald Trump’s repeated claims of having “stopped” a military confrontation between India and Pakistan earlier this year. Ramesh remarked that the American President has now publicly made this assertion “54 times” in different parts of the world.

5. India and Nepal today signed two major agreements to boost power cooperation and develop new cross-border transmission lines for enhanced regional energy trade and connectivity. The agreements have been signed between India’s POWERGRID and the Nepal Electricity Authority.

1. South Korea has conferred its highest national honour, the “Grand Order of Mugunghwa,” on U.S. President Donald Trump, recognising his “role as a peacemaker” on the Korean peninsula. The award ceremony took place in Gyeongju on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit,

2. Diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan collapsed in Istanbul after four days of negotiations failed to yield any agreement. The talks, mediated by Turkish and Qatari officials, aimed to stabilise deteriorating relations following a series of recent border incidents.

3. Russia has successfully tested a new atomic-powered and nuclear-capable underwater drone, Poseidon, declaring it impossible to intercept. Russian President Vladimir Putin made the announcement, just days after informing about a successful test of the Burevestnik nuclear-powered cruise missile.
