1. India will host the second India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (IAFMM) on Saturday. The meeting will be co-chaired by India and the UAE. Foreign Ministers of other Arab League Member States and Arab League Secretary General will participate in the meeting.
2. The Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has strongly rejected the criticism levelled by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA), asserting that the agreement is a win-win deal for both India and the EU.
3. The second tranche of election-related assistance from India was gifted to Nepal, in presence of the Minister for Finance of Nepal, Rameshwar Prasad Khanal. Charge d’affaires a.i., Dr. Rakesh Pandey, ceremonially handed over more than 250 vehicles to the Government of Nepal, in a ceremony held in the Ministry of Finance in Kathmandu.
4. India and Bangladesh successfully concluded the release and repatriation of 23 Indian fishermen and 128 Bangladesh fishermen, along with their operable vessel, on Thursday.
5. Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister JP Nadda held a meeting with a high-level Canadian delegation led by Canadian Minister of Natural Resources, Tim Hodgson, in New Delhi on Thursday. Welcoming the Canadian delegation, Mr Nadda said that strengthening potash availability in India remains central to restoring soil fertility and promoting balanced nutrient application under India’s Integrated Nutrient Management framework.

1. The European Union has announced sanctions on 15 Iranian officials, including top commanders and officials of the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, over Tehran’s deadly crackdown on nationwide protests driven by economic hardship and mounting public anger over governance.

6. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has sparked widespread criticism after stating that women cannot be the head of his party and confirming that Jamaat has not nominated a single woman for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
7. Syria’s interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa visited Moscow yesterday, where he met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin. The talks between the two leaders included the sensitive issue of Russia’s future military presence in Syria.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has warned Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney that his recent public comments against US trade policy could backfire going into the formal review of the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement, the trade deal that protects Canada from the most severe impacts of President Donald Trump’s tariffs.
9. Pakistan’s jailed ex-Premier former Prime Minister Imran Khan underwent a medical procedure for an eye ailment last week at a government hospital in the capital and is in good health, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said
