1. President Smt Droupadi Murmu will embark on a four-day state visit to Portugal and Slovakia from 7th of this month.

2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Thailand to participate in the 6th BIMSTEC Summit. This will be the Prime Minister’s third visit to Thailand after 2016 and 2019.

3. Parliament has passed the Immigration and Foreigners Bill, 2025 with the Rajya Sabha approving it. It repeals the Passport (Entry into India) Act, 1920, the Registration of Foreigners Act, 1939, the Foreigners Act, 1946, and the Immigration (Carriers’ Liability) Act, 2000.

4. 13 fishermen released from Sri Lankan prisons arrive in Chennai, sent to their native places.

5. The 7th India-Japan Maritime Affairs Dialogue was held in Tokyo, Japan. During the dialogue, the two sides conferred on ways to sustain a secure maritime environment conducive to inclusive growth and global well-being.

6. India has surpassed the United States and Europe by producing one thousand 681 locomotives during the financial year 2024-25.

7. India has invited Chile to WAVES 2025 to be held in Mumbai from 1st to 4th of May. Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan met Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage of Chile, Carolina Arredondo in New Delhi on Tuesday.

8. NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, an Indian-American of Gujarati descent, has announced plans to visit India soon and meet the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) team.During the SpaceX Crew-9 Post-Flight News Conference, Williams expressed her admiration for India, particularly its advancements in the space sector, and shared her excitement about connecting with Indian astronauts involved in upcoming ISRO missions.

9. The Nepali Congress has called for a ban on Indian media outlets that advocate for the restoration of monarchy in Nepal, accusing them of misleading the public and broadcasting content against the country’s interests.

10. India and Australia commemorated the third anniversary of the signing of the Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (Ind-Aus ECTA), which has significantly enhanced their economic partnership.

1. In Japan, a strong earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter Scale struck Kyushu region yesterday at 7:34 PM (IST). According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at a depth of 30 kilometers.

2. In Myanmar, the death toll from last week’s devastating earthquake has crossed 2,886, with a further 4,639 injured and 373 missing.

3. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree creating a new state agency tasked with enhancing immigration governance.

4. US President Trump to impose new tarrifs, 25% tariff on Auto imports. White House trade adviser Peter Navarro has stated that the new tariffs would raise 600 billion dollars annually, which would be the largest tax increase since World War II.

5. U.S. Senator Cory Booker has made history, delivering the longest continuous speech in Senate history, an astonishing 25 hours and 5 minutes. The New Jersey Democrat took the floor at 7 PM on Monday and spoke uninterrupted until after 8 PM the following day, calling attention to what he described as a crisis in American democracy under President Donald Trump.

6. Sammi Deen Baloch, a prominent leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), has been released after her detention under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Act.
