1. French plane maker Dassault may assist India develop a 90-Seater passenger Aircraft. Dassault Systèmes’ technology plays a crucial role in the development of India’s proposed 90-seater regional passenger aircraft by enabling cost-effective, efficient, and sustainable design and manufacturing processes.

2. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar reaffirmed the enduring strength of India-Russia relations during the “Russia and India: Towards a New Bilateral Agenda” conference, emphasising their “special and privileged strategic partnership.

3. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has welcomed US President Donald Trump’s recognition of India’s voter ID system, which was highlighted in Trump’s recent executive order aimed at reforming the US federal election process.The order mandates proof of citizenship for federal elections and imposes restrictions on mail-in voting, drawing comparisons with India’s robust voter verification system established in 1952.

4. In a significant act of mercy during Ramadan, the UAE has pardoned over 500 Indian nationals as part of a large-scale clemency initiative. This decision, implemented in February 2025, was led by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sheikh Mohamed ordered the release of 1,295 prisoners across the UAE.

6. Hylenr Technologies, a Hyderabad-based clean energy innovation start-up, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TakeMe2Space, another Hyderabad-based space-tech company, to test and develop compute modules powered by Low-Energy Nuclear Reaction (LENR) technology in space.This collaboration aims to explore alternative energy solutions for space missions, particularly focusing on efficient heat extraction and reuse in satellites.

7. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed concern over the earthquakes which occurred in Myanmar and Thailand. The Indian Embassy has advised Indian nationals in Thailand to contact the emergency number +66 618819218 in case of any emergency.

8. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Thailand on the 3rd of April to participate in the 6th BIMSTEC Summit.

9. The president of the Republic of Chile, Gabriel Boric Font, will be on a five-day state visit to India starting on the 1st of April.

10. India has dispatched 15 tonnes of relief material to Myanmar following earthquake. According to sources, an Indian Air Force C-130J aircraft transported the aid from Hindon Air Force Station.

1. On March 28, 2025, a powerful earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale struck central Myanmar, with tremors felt as far away as Thailand and parts of China. The earthquake occurred at approximately 11:50 AM IST, with its epicentre located near Mandalay, about 17.2 kilometers from the city.

In Thailand, the earthquake claimed at least three lives in Bangkok and caused a high-rise building under construction to collapse.

2. Supporters of pro-monarchy in Nepal clashed with police during a rally in Kathmandu for the restoration of the abolished monarchy.

Thousands of supporters of former king Gyanendra Shah took out a support rally and moved towards the restricted area in Tinkune forcing their way towards New Baneshwor where there was an ongoing Parliament session.

6. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has said that Donald Trump’s announcement of a 25 per cent tariff on imported automobiles and parts is a direct attack on Canada’s workers and industries.

7. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced that the country will hold general polls on the 3rd of May this year for general elections.
